3 spacious parking areas. Room for at least 25 large motorhomes. Even more spaces to one side of entry road. Most of it level, some sloping.
No apparent restrictions (land gifted to public - see large rock with dedication), no services except for a big picnic area with table. House opposite entry road (Landscaping business) has sign offering cold drinks/other stuff. (Closed when I was there).
7/10 signal on 3 and Vodafone. Only 3G on 02.

Like driving over the surface of the moon to get along the dirt track to it but easy to find. Lovely and quiet, very pretty forest with some good dog walking trails. No one else here so we got the Nice and flat parking at the top, well worth a detour from the motorway for the night!

This is a great spot however we had a scary experience (on a Saturday night). We parked alone near the reservoir and were woken up by 2 cars which parked close to us and a group of people started setting off loud fireworks. They moved to the picnic area and set off more fireworks and were revving their engine loudly. We didn't feel safe.

It's still a great place to stay. It is flat in the top car park just before the gap to the picnic area and woods. Tonight we are being serenaded by Mcfly & The Hoosiers from a local festival.

Lovely and quiet, off a country lane, not to hard to find. Turn off opposite a house, follow the dirt gravel drive all the way round, it’s a bit of a loop, and park where you like, we were the only ones there:-)

  • 3/5

We did not manage to find 3 parking spaces, only one at the end of a gravel road through a forest that would fit 5-7 campers. the road was a very uneven gravel road. we drive a 7 m camper and would not use this road again. some campers spend the night in a gravel road roundabout instead of driving through the forest.

A fairly quiet parking area...there were cars coming and going to the top right car park during the late evening/night but we were completely undisturbed by them i.e. no horns, not driving fast etc. I'd stay here again.

  • 5/5

Quiet, no lights, ok mobile signal and within 10 mins of the motorway. Perfect stop off location with no restrictions. I arrived about 22:00 and there were 3 other campervans, still plenty of room.

  • 5/5

When you first drive in there’s two roads to choose from- we went to the right which took you to the picnic table lot- it wasn’t littered with trash so I gave it 5 stars- few dog walkers early (6am) but very quiet

  • 5/5

1st car park was very busy, 2nd empty, small but flat with phone signal also lovely views and the 3rd larger car park has two bins and benches signal is patchy here.

  • 5/5

Eventually found the larger car park after disturbing another nocturnal car activity at 1am. Peaceful night and lovely walking in the morning though. Smaller car park was packed on leaving in the day.

  • 5/5

Very quiet and peaceful nights sleep. There seems to be at least two parking areas. We parked on the higher level but was asked to move for an hour or so as some students were making a horror film. We moved to the lower level were there was a French motorhome. Would recommend. 25 April 2023

really great spot. postcode was tricky. just look for brown picnic table sign and follow. utterly peaceful from 6pm onwards. dog walkers stated parking at Arounn 8am but so quiet other than that.

Stayed a number of nights in the winter and was fine nice spot out the way odd dog walker of biker parking up using the woods. Be carful on the lane in VERY bumpy would be a issue for any lowered Vans

  • 4/5

This is a great spot. Only two issues I found, major big pot hole but drive slowly and ok. If you work nights like me it's very busy with dog walkers and cyclists during the day. So wear ear plugs if you park up during the day to sleep. Amazing walks with the dogs.

we arrived mid afternoon and went to the bigger car park ,lots of dog walkers all very friendly. during the early evening a few cars came and went .not a problem ,until the morning when we cleared up all their beer cans takeaway wrapping which they left on the ground not sure why as there are two bins there .just hope motorhomes don't get the blame for the litter

  • 5/5

Good stopover in the woods next to the picnic area. Great for dog in the morning. Only van overnight would stop again

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

use what 3 words to locate the spot ///coach.jokes.pies very quiet and peaceful

  • 4/5

A peaceful spot that is close to the M6, making it a good stopover to break up a long journey. The only downside was the large number of flies - though it may be different at other times of the year. We were the only vehicle in the area immediately off the main road so it was a quiet night all round.

  • 5/5

Fantastic spot. No height restrictions, plenty of space across three little car parks. Visited by dog walkers until dusk. Quiet, lovely walks and plenty of space. Only 3G on 02.

  • 5/5

Great place to stay if you go to the second car park. It slopes a little but no need for levellers. Lots of dog walkers, cyclists very friendly and chatty. Had a really quiet night and good sleep. Would definitely recommend. There was some rubbish lying around but I think that was just the walkers and the bin was full, so collected and found another bin. Please leave no trace and clear rubbish!

  • 5/5

Great quite place to park. Stayed on a Saturday night and undisturbed. A couple of cars / vans arrived. Forest walks and mountain bike trails nearby. Rubbish bins, picnic tables etc.

  • 5/5

Turned up late at night breaking up my trip back down south, did good for a night. Quite, empty and clean

  • 5/5

Lovely, quiet area in nature! We went just for an overnight stay, and there was only 1 other camper there, and it was a really peaceful night. We'd definitely recommend

  • 5/5

This is wbat we call locally as hanchurch woods. Loads of space and a fa place to stop over, dog walking, cycling, adventure in woods. Bins on site

  • 5/5

stayed here last night, parked in the main parking area, down from the bumpy access track, very peaceful and flattish, a few dog walkers at about 8am, did a litter pick before we left as there were bins.

  • 4/5

Been here a couple of times but parked on Drayton Road. Nice and quiet, gets overcrowded in main car park. Heard some (possible) regular dog walkers moaning about all the vans parked up. I walked over and tbf it was packed!! probably not leaving a lot of space for dog walkers/bikers etc NOT COOL as this could potentially put an end to the free parking here if everyone starts moaning, Just saying
