Stopped for lunch. Plenty of space and easy to find, not too far off main road. Couple of dog walkers while we were there.

Great easy parking area 4 we arrived on 17th April, the weather was nice, there is a path to a flowing river, we were restricted due to a downed tree and had a baby with us. there were a few small flies until about 1900, then it all cleared up

Gran área de estacionamiento fácil 4 llegamos el 17 de abril, el clima era agradable, hay un camino hacia un río que fluye, estábamos restringidos debido a un árbol caído y teníamos un bebé con nosotros. hubo algunas moscas pequeñas hasta alrededor de 1900, luego todo se aclaró

OutofAfrica2320/06/2023This is a peaceful parking sheltered from the road near to the Eggletone Abbey. We used it as a base to visit the towns nearby. It is popular with the local walkers who park there, so please remember that it has no facilities. Do not mess and take all your rubbish away with you. It was a popular stop over while we were there.
BobbyB9428/05/2023A great parkup! Set back from the road not far from town. Arrived at the spot late on went on a wander along the footpath alongside the river. Did it again in the morning and it was beautiful. Was tempted to have a swim near the bridge. Didn't realise the abbey was nearby till I was driving away anothed treat. Would use this spot again if in the area!
sheenabrion09/05/2023Small amount of road noise and a truck and a Motorhome already here when we arrived but a good place to put your head down for the night, only thing to watch is a car pulling a nutty van arrived at 6.30 and asked us to move further along as she was wanting to set up for the day.

Spent last night here. No problem at all. Slight traffic till late evening then spent a very peaceful night. Would definitely use again.

Tried to sleep here in pop-top but, even though it's slightly set back, the road noise was very annoying. Ended up moving in the middle of the night and discovered the Abbey car park a few hundred metres up the road (also on Park4night and with lots of 5 stars). Why would you ever stop here when there's a spot that's so much better just down the road!

currently there is some work being done in the lay-by but can still stay ok. lovely location next to the river.
