Very bad road heavily rutted and very large potholes, okay ish in a 6m motorhome but due to the potholes and ruts, but I wouldn't do it in anything bigger or lower. location is great, the permanent van residents of the location didn't seem to like the idea of visitors and were playing loud music and shouting abuse to try and put us off staying.
Wir haben den Parkplatz aufgesucht, um Stonehenge von dort aus anzusehen. Die Schlaglöcher sind sehr ausgeprägt, aber der Ausblick auf das Monument sehr beeindruckend. Übernachtet haben wir dort nicht. Die Straße ist recht laut und die Anfahrt spektakulär und nicht gerade einfach.
Increíble spot para dormir con vistas al Stonehenge. Muchas campers/motorhome pero sin ruidos de noche y bastante espacio entre una y otra. Hay hippies que viven todo el año. Buen ambiente. Nosotros no hemos visto basura, estaba bastante cuidado todo. El camino desde Larkhill es un poco bacheado pero se pasa bien, y el otro camino desde la carretera A303 está en mejor estado para conducir.
Meiner Meinung nach sollte dieser Feldweg gesperrt werden, die vielen vielen Camper stören schon sehr in dieser beeindruckenden Landschaft. Die nahe Straße ist schon störend genug. Und es gibt an dem wirklich tollen Besucherzentrum große Parkplätze. Nicht überall muss man unbedingt direkt mit dem Auto hinfahren, ein paar Meter laufen und die Stimmung wirken lassen ist viel toller.

Free and a fabulous view. Really terrible road - major potholes as everyone has pointed out so drive very carefully and the verges aren’t exactly flat but can’t complain if it’s free! Felt very safe.
Buen sitio para pernoctar y visitar el monumento por la camino. Una pena que haya basura a los costados, la gente tiene que ser más respetuosa.
perfecta para dormir y visitar stonehenge sin pagar, tiene baches para entrar pero con cuidado todo se pasa, mucho espacio para autocaravanas pero si vienes tarde bastante ocupado
Zwar schreiben hier viele von den großen Schlaglöchern, mich haben eher die vielen „autonomen Langzeitcamper“ mit deren Marihuanageruch und deren Müll am Straßenrand extrem abgetörnt.

Amazing spot, clear view of Stonehenge and a stop walking distance from it. Tons of cans here too, so feels safe. Dropped a star because of the potholes, pretty much off roaring so be careful
Sehr tiefe Schlaglöcher besonders am Anfang der Straße. Die Aussicht auf Stonehenge ist toll, man kommt mit der National Trust Mitgliedschaft auch von dem Tor aus rein ohne vorher zum Besucherzentrum zu fahren
ein wirklich toller Platz, schon alleine wegen dem Blick auf Stonehenge. Wir haben allerdings auf dem anderen Stellplatz am Spielplatz übernachtet, weil es recht voll und die Straße relativ laut war. Von daher haben wir hier nur zu Mittag gegessen.
Place is good for overnight. No facilities at all. Was hard to find a level spot. Nice surroundings of sheep farms and stone henge.
ouvert ce jour et franchement le prix d'entrée à Stonehenge (78£ pour une famille) ne vaut pas les 3 mètres d'écart entre la zone payante et la zone gratuite accessible depuis ce spot pour observer le site (sauf peut être pour les vrais fans d'archéologie). en arrivant par là vous êtes juste de l'autre côté de la barrière, j'aurais aimé le savoir avant de payer l'entrée
Chemin fermé à la circulation de véhicules à compter du 15 juin 2023, le portail est donc fermé. Nous nous sommes donc garé dans les rues juste avant le portail. Mais attention ça ne plaît pas beaucoup aux locaux qui nous ont fait la remarque. Mais ça reste un très bon moyen de voir Stone Edge gratuitement. Nous n’y sommes pas rester dormir.
Potholes, close to the road, dozens of vans and motorhomes, people coming and going, but my oh my, the most gorgeous setting. Never in my life has a toiletview been so amazing.
Perfect place to stop and stay overnight, the road is potholed but absolutely fine if you drive slowly (I was in 7.5m motorhome with towball mounted bike rack and no grounding issues). Really good size parking area. The “stones” look fenced off and inaccessible, but cross the tarmac access road, turn immediately right and there is a public footpath that takes you just past the stones.
Ist eine Straße, man kann an der Seite parken. Es gibt einen Weg der an der Stonehenge vorbeiführt, für die man keinen Eintritt bezahlen muss. Die Straße ist sehr uneben aber es ist ruhig und man kann gut dort schlafen.

Great place to stop for a night and to be able to see the sun rise over Stonehenge. Access the very bumpy track from the A303. Careful as google maps tried to take us through the Stonehenge car park! Yes, the track is very bumpy but just take your time. The first part of the track has closer views of Stonehenge but obviously closer to the A303. The second part of the track is slightly less bumpy.
Zufahrt ist wie bereits beschrieben sehr holprig, aber machbar (Kastenwagen 6m). am besten von der A303 aus Richtung Westen (Winterbourne Stroke) kommen und dann direkt links in den Feldweg abbiegen, dann muss man nicht so lange den Feldweg fahren. Straße hört man nachts nicht. Spätabends kommen und fahren weitere Camper. Aussicht 10/10. Bitte Müll mitnehmen und eigene Toilette mitbringen!
Fairly busy with vans but no trouble. Quiet and out of the way. Little to no flat spots. Good phone signal.
Parken am Rande eines Feldweges, der sehr viele tiefe Schlaglöcher hat. Zugang und Blick auf Stonehenge. Übernachtung ist laut eines Security - Mitarbeiters für eine Nacht erlaubt. Wir standen mit 40 weitern Wohnmobilen. Die A303 ist zu hören, hat uns aber nicht gestört. Nachts sind Camper gekommen und gefahren. Zur Mitsommernachtswende wird die Straße gesperrt.
Wir haben hier einen Zwischenstopp eingelegt und unsere Pause mit toller Aussicht genossen! Die Zufahrt ist -wie schon geschrieben- recht holprig, wir finden aber, es lohnt sich! :)

Top Notch Spot!! Amazing views of Stonehenge, full of friendly van-lifers too :) The only downside is the way in - like your driving on the moon craters… worth it though!
Mooie uitzicht naar Stonehenge en je kan ze bekijken tot op 30m . Plaats zat om te parkeren doch houd er rekening mee dat de weg erg bumpy is. Je staat er niet alleen. Heel rustige nacht gehad en smorgens nogmaals Stonehenge gaan bekijken.
Perfekter Standplatz für einen Besuch von Stonehenge. Nachts sehr ruhig. Viele Möglichkeiten, allerdings leicht abschüssig. Super Blick vom Platz aus auf Stonehenge.

Perfect spot for the night. Right on the door step of the stones. enter the lane from the a303 end for a smoother road. Pretty bad road from the wood henge end. I wouldn't do it again in our transit. But was worth the once to go through the van lifers and say hello.
This place is amazing. We spent a wonderful night here. It’s tollerated to camp here so please take your trash and keep this place clean. On the north side of stonehenge are people living here fulltime in their vans if you decide to stay on this side, respect them and be nice and you might get invited to join at the fire. If you prefer oneday visitors/vanlifers go to the south side. Road is bumpy.
When we got it was rainy so the road was quite muddy and potholes full of water. Nice views. A303 is quite noisy, so park further north from it if you want a more quiet night. Northern section of the road is full with motor-homes and buses of people living there full-time. Friendly folks and some unique vehicles can be seen there.

Make sure you come in from a A360 direction so you can turn left into it). First 100m or so of the track is full of craters but after that it smooths out. Great views of Stonehenge and easy to access the free footpath that runs just 50m away from it. No facilities at all - which may explain why some people choose to leave their toilet waste on the floor :(
stay here a lot. always people here. some people stay here pretty much full time. mind the holes but it's fine. meet new people, watch the stars and wildlife. pick up litter after the tourists.
Great place for a night with amazing views of Stonehenge. Road was muddy and as below comments pretty bumpy. A few other vans were with us when we stayed so seems like a popular place - please respect this site so it remains open for everyone
Have often seen vans parked here and now we know why. Lovel views of Stonehenge and the countryside. The road is very potholed but we made it down in our xtra long transit without grounding out. The lane is marked as no right turn, so if traffic is busy head down to the roundabout a short distance away & turn around to approach from the other direction. No bins, so take your rubbish home.
Stayed here from Christmas Eve till Christmas day PM.. Road is very bumpy with lots of deep potholes, but is manageable.. Beautiful views of Stonehenge and surrounding area. Quiet nights with plenty of space between each van. Road is better further down the drove.. No bins so take your rubbish home with you. The road is closed for any of the solstices throughout the year.
nice spot, woke in the morning to find my fuel cap open, so suspect that someone may have had a go at siphoning fuel from my tank over night.
