The second of two places near my home. Parking on either side of the stream by the ford. There are some steep bends on the single track road, so not suitable for a very large campervan. There is gastrofood at the CB Inn 2km away. The Red Lion Pub in Langhwaite is very traditional but does not serve food. Nearest shops are Reeth, 10km. Nearest supermarket is Richmond, 20km.

A perfect dark spot with hardly any traffic apart from a few chatty grouse in the morning which was a hilarious alarm clock!

Lovely spot. And also the ford from the intro to all creatures great and small. :)

Very sheltered from wind and very quiet apart from river noise no traffic during night 9pm till 7am 1 other car parked up for night

Absolute gem of a spot. Next to the river on a summers night. Roaming sheep so keep dogs on lead. A few midges but who cares. No phone signal so very peaceful.

A beautiful quite spot, dogs not really welcome on the surrounding moor land due to driven shoots. Midge heaven, you are on their menu and they are starving. Will be back in winter months..

Lovely place by a river and ford crossing with good views all round, no light pollution so stars are incredible on clear nights but no signal on TV or phone.

Brilliant, peaceful spot! Pros: beautiful, peaceful, great for stargazing, plenty of space to park with a view, easy accessible, easy to find, flat gravel ground and quiet. Cons: no service (which could be considered as a pro), not a great deal in the immediate area although lots of hills for hiking, if it gets busy parking might be tricky. Overall: 4.5/5

Our favourite stop over a 3 week trip. We had the area to ourselves overnight. No amenities but what a beautiful place to be able to stay the night. Its nestled between 2 small hills so is protected from the wind and the drive to get there on the open narrow lanes was stunning.

Second time here, shared it with a couple of other’s this time.

Lovely place. Level ground for parking. Parking for maybe 4-5 cars without it getting too crowded on one side of the bridge and space for maybe 2 at most on other side by bridge. Quiet place. Dogs should be on lead as signs saying no dogs at all but keep them attached to you, they shouldn’t be disturbing the ground nesting birds.

Stayed here last night was lovely amazing views and sunset was lovely. Busy with families playing in the stream during the day but after 7pm we was the only ones there. So peaceful no traffic in the evening even though its close to the road. No phone reception or services so come prepared! would 100% stay here again!

Parked here for the night, lovely and quiet, no phone signal, no toilets no nothing save for occasional car coming past, but no traffic over night.

Very quiet night. No amenities so be prepared.

Awesome place to stay the night. We had a lovely time. But you need to know, that dogs are not allowed in the national park nearby, because of the ground brooding birds.

Lovely place to stay day & night, we had small campfire, toilets, 8mins drive, very clean, £0.20, no trees, had to find wood 25 mins

Un vrais coin de paradis au bord de ce petit torrent. 2 fourgons en plus de notre camping-car (capucine 7 m çà passe) sans se gêner. Respectez ce lieu magnifique svp !

We had a fantastic overnight camp here. Amazing views and very quiet. You have to be aware of the sheep if you have dogs but ours have a brilliant time in the stream.
