3 cars turned up about 9 ish. Loud yobs with plastic kits on their toy cars to make them sound like they have decent cars show up. Was the gayest activity I’ve ever seen. Likely giving each other hand jobs in the passenger seats.

Pulled in here for overnight stay, looked a good place until yobs in four cars turned up, racing their engines on the gravel. Had to move on.

Large area with great views and possible to walk dogs on a lead on common land. Downside was 2 or 3 cars turning up around 21:30 to use the area for spinning. Probably stayed there just over an hour. It was a Monday night!!

SatleySavages17/03/2023Here tonight, all on our own, room for at least another 6 or more campers. arrived whilst sunny, fantastic 360 degree views, odd car going by, but I imagine will be very quiet as night gets on. Nice and flat, half hour from Ullswater, perfect overnight stopping off point.

Grand parking le long d'une petite route très calme, seul sur le parking en plein mois d'août, aucun service mais très bien pour une nuit en arrivant d'Ecosse avant d'aborder le Lake District. Petite bémol, plutôt venteux.

Very large flat lay by next to a quiet crossroads. Lovely views in the morning across the firth and towards the northern peaks. Be aware there is a school bus pickup at approx 0745 weekdays but only a few parent dropping kids of in cars. Public toilets and a nice pub 15min walk away in Caldbeck. It is a little exposed to the wind as you are on a plateau.

The gravel mounds have gone now and the view is great, especially of the lights at night. Occasional noise from passing traffic.

The gravel mounds rather spoil it but it was handy for an emergency spot as we were too tired to go any further. A quiet night.

goberteam14/06/2017Amazing views, but highway dept now use this area to store gravel for road repairs. Views now obstructed and area doesn't look so pretty, nor is it easy to level the van. Not sure what time lorries come to collect the gravel? Good enough for an overnight stop.

Amazing views from the solway right over to the pennines. Not far into the local village of Caldbeck for a pub and shops/cafe etc. Right on the edge of the Lake district..Great find!
