Great outlook protected from the wind main road next to the park so some road noise not particularly level and popular with dog walking

  • 4/5

Very quiet night in a flat car park. Stayed on a Monday night and zero road noise overnight until 6:40am, and then it was minimal. 2 mile walk to Pateley Bridge but steep hill and no footpath. No facilities and no bins, so take rubbish home

  • 5/5

Great spot, wonderful views, picnic bench, quiet, friendly, honesty box. Some selfish vandal had left a campervan doormat and other rubbish, which we cleared up. Please take your unwanted stuff with you and find a bin!

  • 5/5

Great stopover: 600m from the top of Coldstones Cut where you have a great monument and views. One other van with us. Limited traffic noise at 0730. Lovely and quiet overnight.

  • 5/5

A clean and well kept parking area with excellent views. A payment can be made via an honesty box situated at the back of the car park

  • 5/5

Super spot, great views, very quiet at night. We just had three nights here, watched a barn owl in the next field, did a lovely walk into Pateley Bridge, looked down into the amazing quarry and explored the Coldstones Cut.

  • 4/5

A perfectly acceptable small car park with an honesty box. Couldn't quite find a flat spot with the space that was left. So windy the van was rocking during the night! Coldstones Cut was interesting.

  • 4/5

Here with about 6 other campers. Very quiet. Ground a little uneven but quite remote. 500 yards from the quarry and cuts tone behind you.

  • 4/5

Lovely views, peacful nights sleep, a bit exposed if it's very windy as your at the top of the Yorkshire Dales. The Coldstone Cut is worth a visit, just at the back of the carpark.

  • 5/5

Prettig terrein, stonden met 1 andere kamper. snachts is het rustig en je kan hier naar de Coldstones lopen, wat erg leuk is om te bekijken. Verder geen faciliteiten.

  • 5/5

Great stop, very limited road noise. Nice walk into Pateley Bridge (2-3 miles) & Coldstone Cut well worth a look. No facilities but car park spotless. Couple of picnic benches to eat at if the weather is good.

  • 4/5

Great views. Short but steep walk up to the Quarry viewing point is a must, includes interesting sculpture. Cafe a short walk away is worth a visit. Some road noise but not a big problem. Three other vans there, plenty of space. Honesty box by picnic table, money helps maintain the car park.

  • 5/5

An overnight stop in April - midweek. Very peaceful. Very little road noise and did the job perfectly. Great views. The viewing points over the quarry are definitely worth visiting. Highly recommended.

  • 5/5

Great place to stay overnight, beautiful views and a great walk up to see the quarry over the back. Little bit sloping but overall an amazing quiet stop over.

  • 4/5

great spot. quiet. sideways slope, leveled with ramps. honesty box. short walk to coldstones cut. stayed 1 night , 4 other vans

  • 4/5

A tractor beeped at 8pm, but other than that we had a peaceful evening with one other camper. The main road is very quiet at night.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot. Plenty of spaces and great scenery. Road noise not an issue.

  • 5/5

Good flat parking. 6 vans, including one big overlander were there last night and still plenty of room. Lovely views when the mist lifted. Couple of picnic tables and walks in all directions across the moor. Near the road but not noisy at nighttime. Can get quite windy up here.

  • 5/5

Stayed here 2 nights, nice car park with picnic tables, and the Cold Stone Cut view point looking over the quarry nearby is definitely worth the stop off, 4G coverage, Honesty box in car park definitely worth contributing to, a nice walk into Pately bridge just down the road,Toft Hill Farm Cafe is just a few hundred metres down from the carpark for those who are unable to do there own breakfast,

  • 5/5

Stayed for the night with one other camper. Flat standing. Amazing views. Lovely walk to the cold stone cut which is well worth a visit. Felt very safe.

  • 5/5

    it were reet lovely.

  • 5/5

4 of us parked here last night, 3 vans and a car. All safe and fine.

  • 4/5

Great place for a night arrived late woken to beautiful views across the hills.

  • 5/5

Pulled up about 8.30pm Friday night. No other cars around and although it was quite windy, we got a great night's sleep as its very quiet. In the morning the car park filled up with casual walkers as the top of the hill, monument and quarry are less than a mile away. Decent signal on 3. Not perfect but enough to watch a film with the odd pause. No other facilities but overall a great spot.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot, quiet and beautiful views. We were the only campers for the night, a few cars came and went, but we weren't bothered. couldn't hear the quarry in the morning, went for a lovely walk up the hill. Perfect 4g.

  • 5/5

Lovely stay here, Friday night. Quiet and only van staying over. Great views and walks. Honesty box to donate. Recommend and also recommend a trip to the caves 5 minutes up the road. Road is a little noisy, be lovely on a warmer day with picnic tables.

  • 5/5

We just parked up for the day, the road is noisy. But it's a lovely place with great walks and the quarry is fab! A couple of picnic benches but nothing else! It's lovely and clean too

  • 3/5

Fairly level parking area with the only view from the van being if you park on the left as you come in but panoramic views over the dales are only a 10 minute walk away up the path. A peaceful night with only 2 other vans. the road gets noisy from 5.30am but we are early risers so not an issue. however our night was spoilt by our dog rolling in human poo just off the path! Will not be returning.

  • 4/5

Quiet night, people start turning up around 10am night little walk!

  • 3/5

7.5mtr A'class. Great spot with views, easy access to the Coldstones Cut. No facilities except for a couple of picnic benches. Quiet night. Approach road from the south was No problem in our vehicle. can see sun setting and rise.

  • 5/5

Lovely stop over. There were three campers in total including us. (enough room for 20ish cars) Nice and quiet in the morning so didn't feel rushed off. Nice walk and views over the quarry just behind the car park.

  • 5/5

Stayed here on a Saturday night of a BankHoliday weekend. A few walkers til about 8pm and one other camper and a car that stayed over night. Road is very quiet at night and in the morning. We left at 8:30 with no trace. Honesty box there to pop some coins in. Lovely walk up to the hidden quarry with fantastic views that is only 10mins to walk up.

  • 3/5

Stayed overnight on bank holiday weekend in May. Ok as far as car parks go. not very level at all. We were there with 2 other campers in the evening and lots of walkers/locals coming and going but when we woke up there were 6 campers in total and we left early doors to make room for walkers arriving. Let's not ruin vanlife for ourselves guys, if there's already 2-3 vans in one car park move on.

  • 5/5

Great Spot with some interesting features around.. a couple of picnic benches and a very big quarry over the hill. Next to main road, not too noisy until about 8am. No facilities. Good 4G signal.

  • 5/5

    Looking Good...

  • 5/5

Great over night stop. Very quiet. Plenty of room for 20 cars but not that many vans! Unless you like to be cosy? beautiful views with access to several walks. Virtually no traffic at night but early morning quarry workers at 5.30 so get up and enjoy the sunrise in the summer.

  • 4/5

Great views and a quiet enough road. loads of space and nice and level.

  • 4/5

Great spot overlooking nidderdale. parking for around 20 cars/vans, great walks and views. No water or toilets, but there is nice bench to watch the sunrise.

  • 4/5

Stayed here on the 29th Aug, great little spot, lots of great views at the top, be careful of pot-holes in the car park, this was our first time car park camping and it left a great impression on us, fellow campers were friendly.

  • 5/5

Really great spot. We shared the car park with a fellow camper and it was really quite with a lovely sunset.

  • 5/5

Nice and quiet, no bother, and the Coldstones Cut is pretty amazing and worth a visit

  • 5/5

Great place farmer came round twice to check area will go agaim

  • 5/5

Fab car park with gorgeous views. The post code doesn't seem to direct you straight to the car park, so once you see the sign for 'The Coldstones Cut', it's literally the car park for it. Would definitely recommend!!

  • 5/5

A very peaceful place to park with stunning views and can actually see York Minister through binoculars. Well worth the walk up to Coldstones Cut and the view of the massive working quarry.

  • 4/5

Nice spot with easy access from the road which is not too busy in the day apart from the usual rush hour traffic and quiet at night. Fairly level hard surface car park. Picnic bench if you want to eat al fresco! Can be a bit breezy but views are superb. There is an honesty box so please drop some money in it for the up keep.

  • 5/5

Great little car park. road was silent all night. nice views and nice walk to the quarry. can get very windy.

  • 5/5

Lovely little car park. Quiet road. Short walk up to stunning quarry where we watched them work for half an hour! Ice cafe a five minute walk away which allows dogs in, has great food. Beautiful views from the car park.

  • 5/5

What a great little stop over. For a cold night in February the place was easy to find and park up. We had a short stroll in the morning to the Cold Cut structure, where you can look out over the working (massive) hole in the hill quarry.

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night, got there around 1am and was stunned by the amazing views that I woke up to. Very quiet and out the way.

  • 5/5

Great place to stay. Totally free but there is an honesty box so please make a donation. No restrictions on overnight sleeping. No services whatsoever, in middle of nowhere. Please take rubbish home with you. Views are magnificent. Local historic lime kiln.

  • 5/5
