lovely quiet spot. toilets are closed (vandalism) but toilets are open over the bridge and showers with waterways cards sold in pjs fishing shop around e8 for 10 units on the main street. short walk to Aldi. no facilities but a bin but it's free. playground and basket ball pitch near. outdoor swimming pool open during the summer e5.50 for adults and e3 for kids.

Stayed here Sunday 05th of February. Great location, for lovely walk into Killaloe. It’s a car park to a walk way not a campervan stopover so be mindful of others. Parking was free. We ate out at Flannigans and Raw. Both were lovely. There were 4 other campervan/ motor homes there. Very safe and road noise was minimal.

Stayed a quiet night here. Nothing much has changed since my review on 11/1/20, except the barrier has been taken down and the carpark was busy during the evening. Lots of kids swimming in the river and a few jet skis on the water.

This is small tarmac parking area beside Ballina Public Slipway that has NO dedicated parking spaces for motorhomers. All the spaces are car size but there is space for motorhome overhang onto the grass. There is a height barrier at the entrance but it was open and there were no signs disallowing motorhome parking. Pros: Free parking. Tree shade. Local supermarket, restaurant, cafes and bars. Cons: Height barrier may be closed in peak season. There is a small bin in the carpark. Shops, bars, restaurants and cafes are only a 10 minute walk along the river path into town. During a winter week the town is sleepy and quiet. There is plenty of history in the town and just outside. St Flannan's Cathedral a must visit is on the Killaloe side of the river. It has a Ogham Stone containing old gaelic writings among other items of interest. Brian Boru's Fort is less than a 30 minute walk out the R463 towards Scarriff. Beware there is no carpark there. We recommend The Wooden Spoon Cafe and Derg House Cafe for something to eat. We had 1 quiet night here. There are no lights in the carpark and it's pitch dark at night. At about 11pm a car came into the carpark, done a few skids and left. Bugs/Mosquitoes. (They love us..) No mosquitoes in Ireland.

Quiet car park but the road next to it can be a bit noisy/ look like someone is coming into the car park. There was no one else in the car park with us though.
