1/2/22 Large car park. sign states no overnight parking. toilets were already locked at 19:30 when we arrived. Great car park for daytime however there is a charge. no height restrictions

  • 1/5

Been to Cromford Warf car park in past 2 days. Although a perfect spot there is now new signage stating NO OVERNIGHT PARKING

  • 4/5

Cromford Canal Parking - Spend a quiet night in pleasant surroundings with walks, town, pubs etc close by. Loos were open all night. Across the road Cromford Mills is more shady so probs great in summer months. Out of season I paid £4 for 24 hours, but in summer vans and campers are £9 for overnight stays. If staying between 5pm and 8am overnight is free in winter. WiFi signal was very poor.

  • 4/5

Quiet night, had the car park to ourselves. Toilets were open.

  • 4/5

be aware if you park near toilet block end on a Saturday night there's a catering trailer comes in Sunday morning. he's not the most pleasant of chaps .we had to move and he got council to us reported us for not having paid which of course we had .other than that lovely scenery.

Stayed in Cromford Wharf car park last night. Noticed that at this time of year it is free between 17:00 - 09:00. Nice and quiet with only two other vans parked up. OKish 4G signal (Vodaphone).

  • 4/5

Stayed 2 nights and it was a great location to use as a base to visit Matlock Bath and the Heights of Abraham. The toilets were very handy though I don't think they're cleaned very often. The nights were quiet and we had a lovely view of the canal.

There appears to be some confusion amongst the comments as there are four separate car parks on Mill Rd. Free overnight parking, £4.80 during the day, toilets 8 - 8 and no height barrier are all to be found at Cromford Wharf car park next to canal, on the RIGHT as you drive down from A6. The second car park Cromford Mills (on left) is signed as no overnighting and more expensive during the day.

Great spot! The guy who lives in the house is a bit miserable but ‘hey ho’. Stayed here a few times and never had any problems. Highly recommend!

  • 5/5

Quiet carpark with toilets which is free from 20:00 to 08:00 by the canal path and counting house coffee stop. There are a couple of no restriction bays on the road outside that I parked in during the day but you could stay in the carpark for just £4.80 per day. Both car park and no restriction bays were plenty big enough for my 6.5m long motorhome.

  • 5/5

Absolutely beautiful place and in the mill courtyard where the toilets are is the shower free to use and exceptionally clean. no key needed to access them. Car park free for disabled or £1.80 for 3 hours. Be careful make sure you use the mill car park and not the lower one which is bigger but costs more. The rugby club is through the large car park through double gates.

Ignore previous message I've just been informed by she who must be obeyed there's another entrance without a barrier.

  • 3/5

Don't be caught out by the pictures, we were, the height barrier is very much in place so the big campers in the pictures won't get in now. Alls not lost though there's plenty of unrestricted parking in the road so that's home tonight.

This is an excellent stay. Great cafe to eat drink tea coffee etc loverly walks really clean toilets and sinks totally recommend it

  • 4/5

Just arrived at this car park, seems fine. The Canal Side car park machine only takes cash. Parking on other side of road takes card but is £9 for the day. The rugby club next door is cheaper but they have had to put up a hight restriction barrier because of problems with ‘travellers’. Good phone signal; limited tv.

Stayed here for a night. £7 a bargain. lovely walk next to the river into the village. Had a peaceful night

  • 4/5

Very nice area, quiet on the evenings, a walk up to the black rocks is a must, toilets locked on the evening and there is a height restriction bar moved into place as we were leaving on a Monday morning--the guy was nice enough to let us know.

Quiet parking spot during September/October. Spent two nights here free overnight and inexpensive during the day. Nice walks along the Canal and nice picnic area.Toilets/Disabled and baby changing facilities Radar key needed. Very nice spot.

  • 5/5

    Quiet and peaceful!

Stayed a few different nights now, in the week and on the weekend. Quiet, chill. Toilets sometimes open, sometimes not. You might get noisy people in the car park the other side of the wall, but not really a big deal.

  • 5/5

Stayed on the car park opposite the rugby club for one night, arrived and were the only people there and paid £7 for overnight parking. Very quiet site, secluded and not visible from the road. Nice walk walking the river that was behind the car lark too. No height restrictions

  • 2/5

2m height restriction. not suitable for motorhomes

Stayed overnight on route up North, arrived 2100 to a well lit, quiet safe feeling car park. Despite it being Saturday night, there was no noise or people about, the only thing we saw were rabbits. In the morning we went to the canal side for a very short walk then, across the road up the side of the river. We paid 60p/hour after 0900 to stay, as a stopover this is superb.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife in our VW. Can't recommend this site enough, it was very big, with plenty of room for us to feel isolated from the other 2-3 vans who were staying over night. the toilets were used by many people but were cleaned 1-2 times a day. Shower was lovely, and only 3-4 minutes walk. Got very busy on Saturday with day trippers, but quietened down by around 7-8. We got lunch at the nearby cafe, and they allowed us to fill our small 10l water jug. Note that there are 2 adjacent carparks, we stayed in the bigger of the two, at the rugby club, and there were no issues. We paid for the day (£5) on the phone, and had a nice conversation with the parking attendant, who had no problem with us staying.

Lovely quiet spot, near to town , great walks recommend

Very quiet no problems. Pay and display 0800 to 2000 summertime

  • 5/5

Lovely place to stay free overnight but don’t go in cricket ground car park just before as that is expensive!

  • 1/5

Having been woken at 1pm by high revving engines I looked out of the window to see what can only be described as a scene out of Fast and Furious !!! Three sets of car headlights in the centre of the car park pointing at our motorhome with the drivers repeatedly flooring the accelerator with the engines screaming!! Mmmmmm Tuesday night what is wrong with these youngsters!! Well moan over we sat there till 1:50am when they all departed!! Enough was enough. We were unsettled, 12 year old labrador on a broken nights sleep ???????? we left the site!! It's not lit’ too remote and we won’t be coming back. Choose carefully people ..........

Très bien pour une nuit étape. Calme la nuit et agréable pour la soirée. Tables de pique-nique et sanitaires ouverts toute la nuit. Attention pas de lumière dans les toilettes la nuit.

  • 5/5

Stayed here 2 nights even with band playing at the Rugby club there were no problems. toilets meant to be locked at 10pm but left open all night even though lights go off at 9. Will use again when next in the area.

Toilets are clean and open until 8-10pm in the summer. There is a cafe opposite with a canal running through. Gorgeous views. Plenty of bins. Not to be confused with the rugby club car park next door.
