Stunning views once there.

Einmal dort angekommen, atemberaubende Ausblicke.

Parking is £5 all day if you’re not a member of National Trust. Beautiful view. Narrow and steep road to get here (from the north). No overnight parking / no overnight camping.

  • 5/5

No overnight parking. Beautiful spot incredible views of the lake and surrounding mountains also views back down towards Barmouth. The road I went up to get there was very sketchy wouldn’t try it again. Definitely would go the other way in future. Toilets and bins up there. 21/08/21

Incredible spot! Road up to get here is worth it, very magical. It is gated at points due to livestock. Beautiful walks but if it’s wet it does get a bit boggy around the lakes but can walk up the peak instead! The road is steep and tight turns so would agree that only cars and small vans can get up here.

National trust car park - don’t let the gates put you off.... One of my favourite ever spots! Stayed just one night with no hassle. Such a beautiful location and had the whole place to myself. Toilets open all night.

You’re really not supposed to park here overnight, but a few other vans were already there when we pulled in and some had stayed before, so we gave it a go. Turned out to be more popular as about 5 other vans came in after us. Still, plenty enough room and a toilet to boot too. We had our tea, crashed out and were out of there sharpish in the AM.

Amazing views. Very quiet. Road is steep and narrow with national trust gates to keep the sheep in . Stayed here one night- didn’t see another soul

Great spot! easily accessible from arthog road if you are a confident driver managed it in mwb sprinter, one pin head makes the wheels spin but just gas n go! lovely views!

Amazing spot but, with six big vans already here, decided to give it a miss and head into Barmouth instead.

We have stopped here a few times. stunning views, toilets open all night. Close to both the Mawddach trail and Cader Idris.

We stopped here on 24/9/20 overnight in our small camper - no one else stopped and the only people we saw were a photographer and a dog walker. The loos are closed at the moment. It is easier to get up the other road - not the steep road from the Fairbourne side, although both routes have gates and are narrow single tracks without parking places. It does say no overnight stops on the signs but we couldn't resist and being National Trust members we felt we ought to get something not having used our cards this year. A great view and nice and flat but plenty of sheep so check your shoes......

This is a great ‘out of the way’ spot. Not an easy route - and we took the green route on the picture of the original post in our T5 VW - but worth the effort. A stone’s throw away is the lake and the other way are views down to Barmouth. It was stunning weather when we came and a walk up the peak from the lake was well worth it. There are signs saying no overnight parking but we were the only people there. The toilet was open all night but had no paper when we arrived. Somehow, 4 rolls appeared by the morning!

  • 3/5

Parked here Easter with no restrictions but just pulled onto car park 31/05/19 and there are new no overnight parking or overnight camping signs. Another great spot lost!

  • 5/5

Beautiful place, the lake and landscape is stunning. The road up from the north is an adventure, only just made it in my Mercedes 208D. Would 100% recommend accessing from the other side, much easier road with better views! Didn't notice any signs saying no overnight parking, and national trust staff were around in the morning to do maintenance and didn't say anything to us or other van there.

Stayed here 23-04-19, very peaceful with good views

No longer accessible. There is a camp site just before £15. However, the roads leading on are closed and are ridiculously narrow prior. Would not recommend in a camper or tall vans!

  • 5/5

Lovely spot, narrow road up - however new sign appears to have been placed stating no over night parking.

  • 5/5

Beautiful site. Toilets on parking. Signs

Fantastic place, stunning views. If you are in anything bigger than a small van then you should not come up the road from the A493. It is extremely steep with low branches. We did get our Rollerteam Zefiro 690 up but with a lot of stress.
