(G63 0AR) - West Highland Way

We spent a week touring the Trossachs, and this was my favourite park up. Loch side position, flat. Toilets only open between 9 and 4pm. Excellent base for Ben Lomond climb

Am Tag füllt sich der Platz mit vielen Wanderern. Gegen späten Nachmittag wird es aber sehr still und man kann den See und die Aussicht genießen. Als wir dort waren hatten wir Sonnenschein, weswegen wir den Aufenthalt super schön wargenommen haben... wir würden wieder her kommen. Sogar Toilette sind ab 9-16 Uhr geöffnet.

Drove from Cardiff south wales up to this little Jem, found this very easy with the postcode stated. Parked right on the loch with stunning views, running water and very clean toilets. Dose get busy in the day time but there are plenty of parking spots. Parked here for 2 nights and felt very comfortable. Enjoy this great spot guys and girls

This is a great stop. Great views, quiet, and the start of the Ben Lomond trek with access to toilet facilities. I camped overnight solo and felt very safe.

Amazing place to stop for the night, the road up on the east side of Loch Lomond isn't great, pretty potholed and narrow, very glad I didn't have too much traffic passing me the other way in our 6 berth motorhome, but the location is worth it. Quite a few cars arrived early morning with what I assume we're Ben Lomond hikers starting getting an early start, but otherwise a perfect overnight stop.

Quiet location with stunning views, we were in a long wheelbase Mercedes sprinter which overhung the spaces slightly

Fills up quickly but totally worth it if you can get a spot. Beautiful view of the loch and right near the start of the Ben Lomand hike. Free public toilets and water filling spot just nearby. Well kept area and free to stay!

A good, free spot but very busy when we went, we were lucky to finally get a spot at about 8p.m after arriving at 6.15! It was the weekend though & no noise issues despite being busy. Another car park here but you have to pay and it states no overnight parking. The nearby toilets are clean, well maintained, but be aware they do get locked overnight (I didn't realise this!)

Great view on the Loch Lomond! We arrived around 7 PM at sunset and we had a nice atmosphere there. We found places even if there are only 5-6 places. Toilets available very close and Ben Lomond track starts here! We had a lovely time

we wilden er 2 nachten slapen maar de 1ste morgen kwam de wachter ons vragen om er de volgende nacht niet meer te overnachten. we hebben ons dan op een camping verderop geplaatst.

es un lugar maravilloso para pasar la noche. Unas vistas espectaculares, tranquilidad y la entrada para el ascenso a Ben Lomond. Lo único negativo son los mosquitos, pero están en todas partes igualmente! Volvería sin dudar.

Lugar perfecto para pasar la noche muy tranquilo. Esta al final de una carretera un poco estrecha pero de fácil conducción. Hay baños y lugar donde poder recargar botella de agua. Puedes iniciar sendero.

Magnifique endroit pour la nuit. Des places en arrivant en milieu de journée. Toilettes et eau potable à proximité. Nikel pour monter à Ben Lomond.

Fine spot to park for 10 campervans. Great starting point for the Ben Lomond hike.

good parking spot for the night. We arrived around 7.30pm and found over half the spaces available. Quiet. The toilets were sign posted to be open until 8pm but were open past 9pm and open again at 8am

A superb freebie spot with enough room for about 10 vehicles to park overnight overlooking the water. Very busy the night we stayed (16/8/22) with two autocaravans (with their cars alongside), three motorhomes and two campervans, but no problems at all. Free toilets open from 8am-9pm and some lovely walks, plus the water looked so inviting for swimming, kayaking etc - a perfect spot.

Emplacement parfaitement situé au bord de l’eau. Toilettes accessibles jusqu’à 20h. Pub à 5mn à pied. Idéal pour un départ d’ascension du Ben Lomond. Petit bémol, le bruit porte sur l’eau et l’on entend la route très passante de l’autre côté du Loch. Arrivez tôt car les places sont chères !

Toller Platz, mit super Aussicht über den Loch Lomond. Wir haben sehr widersprüchliche Aussagen bezüglich einer erlaubten Übernachtung erhalten und kurzerhand eine Polizeistreife gefragt, die uns das übernachten auf dem bezahlten Parkplatz erlaubte. WC vorhanden, wird aber ab 21 Uhr abgeschlossen und morgens wieder geöffnet. Startpunkt für Wanderungen zum Ben Lomond und Teil des West Highland Ways

Circa 7-10 freie Plätze direkt am Ufer des Sees, neben dem großen Bezahl-Wanderparkplatz (dort ist Übernachten verboten). Toller Platz mit Toilette (über Nacht versperrt) und direktem Zugang zum Wanderweg auf den Ben Lomond.

Awesome spot right on the edge of the Loch. Water tap nearby and toilets available 9am-8pm. Approximately 10 free spots with more paid parking up the hill. Beware of midgies in the summer, but totally worth it. Nice pub within a 5 minute walk.

Lovely scenery, great walking and swimming in the loch, free toilets and water. There are around ten free spots, not very large, so only for smaller vans. The paid car park is a lot bigger. The locals obviously know this is a good place, too. Had some cars coming late, leaving the motor on for over half an hour before leaving again. This was during the week. Probably rather noisy on weekends.

For Loch Lomond this is a 5 star - with the camping management plans in place there aren’t too many options for wild campings around the area. This spot is a free car park next to the Ben Lomond visitor centre. It got quite busy during the day, as you have to pay in the visitor centre for parking (can’t stay overnight) so all local visitors would want to park here. However we arrived at 7pm and it was quiet. The spot itself overlooks the loch and has easy access for a kayak via a beach on either side just a two

A lovely stop, It's a dead end road but fine for all sizes of Motorhomes. Park outside car park for free, campers only, not enough space for motorhomes. For £5 you can park in car park, not sure if they do checks after 5pm. It's a coin only meter. Ben Lomond starts here and the Rowerdennan hotel serves breakfast 7 to 9am and Lunch/dinner until 8pm. Loch Lomond is good to swim June to September.

fantastic view, road can be sporty as is single track but fine if other road users are courteous. Toilets were spotless. quiet night ,no problems. Will definitely be back.

Parked right at the Loch side. Free parking for around 7 vans but extra parking with around 20 more spaces in attached car park in the forest. Toilet closed at night.

L’aire de repos n’est pas payante et a une vue directe sur le lac contrairement au grand parking. Les WC sont très propres et il y a de quoi remplir des gourdes à l’extérieur. Nuit super calme et vue incroyable ! :)

Highly recommend. Stunning views, easy to find parking and only £5 if within the car park. Really clean toilets but get locked up just after 5pm. Able to book to do water sports and at the bottom of Ben Lomond. Pub short way from parking however if you want food make sure to reserve a table! We had to sit outside in the pouring rain with a small bowl of sympathy chips as there were no vacancies!

March 2022. Arrived at roughly 19:00 and got the last spot in the lay-by (thanks to someone else kindly moving to make space- very kind!!). Unsure as to whether you can park in the actual car park (appears not). Toilets open during the day. Pub just down the road!

Beautiful spot! Took a while to get there via a narrow road, but the view is stunning and worth it. Just enough space for 5 campervans, more space a little further for 3 pounds. Toilets closed after 5 pm. Clean and silent :).

Peaceful, pretty view. We stayed in the layby just outside of the car park and was free. We were the only ones there after dark. Cute little beach near by

We were the only vehicle there over night, so nice a quiet. Hopped up the hill in the morning then headed off!

Great spot by the Loch and really handy for an early morning start on the hike up Ben Lomond before the crowds arrive. paid for the parking during the day which is very reasonable. stayed a few nights. other campers around. access to portaloos 24/7 when main toilets are closed.

Fantastic little spot. I parked on the left side before reaching the main car park and sat by the beach all night before going back to the van. There were a few other campers there too so a great atmosphere.

Perfect spot for a night - we parked in the small lay-by right by the loch and outside of the main carpark along with a few other vans, however others stayed in the main carpark without issue (police drove past at one point but didn’t raise concerns). Beautiful view, very close to pub/restaurant with a lovely garden.

Amazing view with quite a few spaces for vans if parked straight. Toilets avaliable in the day then portaloos at night. Nice pub with a good beer garden too nearby. Very peaceful.

Wow! Just breathtakingly amazing. Great overnight spot. Great pub with delicious food and beer. We parked before the wooden barrier as this land is supposedly not owned by the car park. But, we did have one of the forestry guys come and check every van had paid for parking in the morning, he seemed convinced the land was part of the car park. Wasn’t bothered we’d been there overnight though.

We followed previous users advice and stayed on the left before you cross the wooden barrier, however it seems the parking meters are still broken so no need to pay anyway and there were plenty of other vans around the main car park overnight. Lovely beaches for a swim and portaloos accessible overnight does the job! You can hear the heavy traffic from other side of lake otherwise 5 stars.

Beautiful view, really quiet. Close proximity to pub. And toilets in Rowerdennan car park. We stopped here Wednesday night and a Friday night and got parked both times. Parked vertically to allow for more space for other vans but a few other vans had parked horizontally which reduced capacity.

The main car park is not free and camping is not allowed however, if you park on the left before the wooden entrance barrier overlooking the shoreline this is not part of the carpark and is owned by the hotel and you can stay overnight for free. If this area is full there is an overflow carpark on the way back which the wardens told us we could camp overnight.

Beautiful spot! Stayed Thursday and Friday, Friday definitely busier but not terrible. Portaloos open all night, free to park but donated to the adjoining carpark. Lovely beach to swim from round the corner.

We stayed overlooking the lake on the side of the car park! Perfect spot. Great nights sleep!

Lovely spots and great views around, but it does say on one of the signs no overnight parking.

East side of Loch Lomond is the best. Youngsters playing loud music, several jet skiers, overflowing waste bins - the side effects of a hot summer shortly after lockdown. But if these minor issues don’t bother you it’s an ideal location for climbing Ben Lomond. Water tap by the toilet block - free to use. (Parking ticket machines currently out of order so nobody could pay.)

Amazing spot. Free parking when I was here, epic views and swam in the loch. Toilets 9-6 and portaloos for the night. Can get a bit loud on the weekend but spade to move if it’s too much. Fresh water tap too. 10/10 treat it well folk

Great spot! Be ware that the pub closes kitchen at 8:30pm. Enjoy!

Beautiful quiet spot where you can back on to lush views of the Loch. Public toilets in car park open 9-6 but had Porter loos opens 24hrs. Access to Ben lomond walk so car park fills up quick during the day.

Great spot and ideal for climbing Ben lomand. quiet at night, only a few vans parked up when we were here although got busy fairly early so be prepared for an early start! amazing views of the lake and facilities open during the day. pub next door not worth a visit! Paid £3 for ticket for the day after sleeping

Parked by the Loch edge to climb Ben Lomond, paid £3 to park all day. On return we walked to the pub fora bar meal, which was lovely. Decided to stay in the same spot for the night, a few other camper vans parked up for the night. Heard a few cars pass, stop during the night but overall a good spot to stop for the night.

An amazing view of the loch, very peaceful at night with beautiful views of the stars and across the Loch, toilets are clean with a time 8-6, bins, clean, however very busy from the walkers as people started turning up at 5am to climb the mountain

We had 2 excellent nights here. We parked for free just outside the Forestry Commission site and had great views right on the lock. The weekend was extremely busy but things whitened down at about 7pm. Great walks from the van to the top of Ben Lomond or around the Loch- highly recommend.

Great views of the loch, quite busy, portable toilets are locked overnight but were surprisingly clean, charges say 8pm - 8am, but you can park for £3 each day so it's not too bad.

Quiet place right on the banks of loch with mountain trails and jetties right by. Park just before the car park to avoid costs. Toilets locked after 8pm. A nice pub minutes walk away with food too. Not the most accessible place if just passing through.

Exercent spot. A few other campers, but quiet in the evening. Even with heavy rain the lake was super peaceful and a bliss to wake up to.

Great spot, not much water front parking but, when I stop boxing days loads ! toilets closed until march, no a problem, even in the rain nice to wake up to the view of the loch

Stayed here twice during our trip, at the start and end of a fabulous two weeks on the road. Amazing proximity to Glasgow, and right on Loch Lomond! A lot quieter here on the east side of the loch, right at the end of a single track road- don’t let the distance put you off. Space for 5 campers approx in the small car park right on the edge of the water- very flat, quiet, and tranquil. Toilets next door, but locked overnight. The Clansman pub is a few minute’s walk away- nice warm spot to have a drink or dinner.

Great little spot, not much space for parking only maybe 5 vans at a time. facilities can be used, we put a little donation in the carpark meter to say thankyou. beautiful views and a tap to fill up your water!

Absolute lovely place. It cost a few pounds to stay overnight, but it's worth it. Excellent for walks and hiking.

6 à 8 places donnant directement sur le Loc. Accès direct aux randonnées, assez prisé je pense, parking rempli un lundi en mai. Très calme, je recommande !

Nous y avons passé 2 nuits sans problème, très calme avec vue sur le lac. Il y a un robinet d eau au niveau des wc.

Bel endroit au bord du Loch Lomond et au départ de la randonnée pour aller au sommet du Ben Lomond. Toilettes fermés de 20h à 8h.

Not one of my favorite spots. Very tight space on the water, covered in toilet paper, even though use of park facilities next door. Facilities are ancient, men’s room dirty, though my wife tells me the women’s is clean. Still, it’s free and not too bad, all things considered. Great hikes from this spot.

Fantastic stop over would stay again please park sensible car park is busy, toilets clean and tidy, outside tap for water but only able to fill up when quiet as it's close to the toilets.
