    Beautiful spot. Rubbish collected !

  • 4/5

"No Overnight Parking" signs now removed, and vans staying again! That could obviously change though.

  • 1/5

Nice access to the beach but plenty of "no overnight" signs.

  • 1/5

Signs stating ‘no overnight’. You could get away with it, but I’m a firm believer in staying overnight at places that welcome it, we moved on.

  • 1/5

Unfortunately „no overnight“ signs up :(

  • 5/5

wonderful parking spot right by the beach..however there are parking signs which state no overnight parking. We stayed anyway feeling a bit anxious about it and were joined by two vans later on. no problems reported though.

  • 5/5

Fabulous park-up. Extremely quiet. It is busy on a hot day, so arrive after 5pm if you plan to stay over night. There are two bins and an acceptable mobile connection.

  • 5/5

Had a great stop over very quiet. Nice beach will return

  • 5/5

Lack of facilities more than made up for by the setting, with Nature Reserve and massive beach at anything near low tide. Joined by various dog walkers but none so early to bother us.

  • 5/5

Stayed here one night. we were on our own from about 8pm till dog walkers started arriving around 6am. Very peaceful night. Walked along the coastal path to seascale. lovely views of sea and mountains.

  • 5/5

    peaceful night sleep, lovely views

  • 4/5

I have given this park area 4 stars as it is a lovely place, that is when the dog walkers have gone home and you can actually find a parking space. Get ready to be surrounded by the dog lovers from early the next morning - I actually felt as if we were intruding onto their patch. The beach is lovely and because it has been a nature reserve for around 50 years it is in lovely condition. Enjoy.....

  • 5/5

Very quiet spot, not well known - keep it clean and look after it, beach is lovely when the tide is in.

  • 5/5

Seems remote at night but was nice and quiet. Dog walkers in the morning but not too much noise.

  • 5/5

Very good place, quiet and easy access

  • 4/5

Great place, friendly locals and a great beach to walk the dogs.

  • 5/5

Nice level location, stayed midweek and there was plenty of space. A few other vans parked for the night so don't be surprised if you're not alone. Access to a bin. Drigg Dunes and Beach down the path. Police did a drive by late at night but no stopping or questioning. All in all a really good spot and wouldn't hesitate to return.

  • 5/5

A lovely spot near the beach, out of the way. Room for large vehicles, no services apart from a (very full) bin.

  • 5/5

Really quiet and a very secure site. All the locals, dog walkers, fishermen and horse riders said hello. The police did not put in an appearance but would think they would be more interested in the security of the power station rather than enforcing local bylaws! There was one sign deterring camping but I read that as no camping on the coastal path and would they move you on if you’ve had a drink?

  • 3/5

Quiet and level parking, great sea view. Close proximity to Nuclear facility gives it an eery feel! would stay here again.

  • 5/5

Very quiet and had a lovely stay.

  • 5/5

Stayed one night few other campers there, felt safe as a solo camper, police drove down but didn't stop. sheep and lambs in the field next to the parking with access to the beach. beautiful sunset and peaceful night. would use this place again

  • 5/5

Stopped here the other day, nice place to stay for the night, quite popular it seems with walkers but very quite at night.

  • 5/5

Great dog walking beach...Quiet place, worth going there just for the huge beach. Parked there one night on my own, lots of dog walkers in the morning, I spoke to locals and they said very happy to have motor home’s there , plenty of bins and no rubbish. One 1.30 am van popped down, maybe fishing? Very windy and raining when there so be prepared for high winds out of season...

  • 4/5

Right next to the beach. Fairly open area for parking, it was windy when we stayed over so had to park up with the wind in mind. There is a bin, no toilets or anything else there. We saw a few dog walkers. Police checked the area early next morning but werent bothered we had stayed over. Nice and quiet over night, not near any main roads.

  • 3/5

Make of it what you will, but probably worth a comment that it's next to the UK's low level nuclear waste repository (at Drigg not Sellafield - this is the secure facility you drive by to get there).

  • 4/5

Quiet spot right next to the dunes and beach. Several fishermen parked up when we arrived, but all left by 11pm and we were alone overnight. Lots of walkers in the morning and the parking was full by 8am! Police passed by once or twice. A bit exposed to the wind and rain.

  • 5/5

Great place to stay the night!! Was a bit worried when I first saw it because there were no other vehicles there and it looked a bit empty, but around 7pm other vans arrived. Police came to check the area a couple of times and didn’t say anything. 3 other vans spent the night there and the highlight was the sunset! Super quiet during the night but a lot of dog walkers around 8am. I recommend it!

  • 5/5

We loved it so much we stopped 2 nights gets busy with dog walkers in day the police patrol comes at 9am 11-12am ish and 5-6ishpm and they wave back as they pass there was 2 campers and other 1 stopped 2 nights as well

  • 5/5

A lovely over night spot very quite with views to lakes and the Western fells out of 1 side of camper and the sea and dunes out-of other very nice. there was 2 campers here last night. 4G signal. and a bin. yes the police did come at 9am turned round and drove of

  • 4/5

We stayed here last night, lovely view nice walk along beach.. nice and quiet. There was 1 other van and yes the police do pop down but they just waved at us ?

  • 4/5

Just for info, be careful when staying here, as stated above, the police regularly patrol this area, there are signs saying no overnight staying, so just be aware, you could be moved on, my son is a policeman and told me not to risk it as they often move people on from here

  • 4/5

  • 3/5

Quiet night (January) with only vehicles being dog walkers and the occasional visit from the Atomic Energy Police, who just drove past. Excellent access to huge beach. I expect it will be very busy during summer months. No services other than dustbin.
