The place is superb, however, a group of 6 kite surfers turned up, loud music, and running generator till late. No consideration for others or the beautiful quiet place they are in.

Clachan Sands was our favourite spot in the entire Outer Hebrides - it’s stunning! Caught the amazing weather which helps of course. Slightly bumpy last section of track but not bad. Keep going right to end for lots of space overlooking one beach and the other is over the hill. Had a wonderful swim and paddle board. Water and bin plus 2 picnic benches. Please give the £10 donation!

  • 5/5

great view, very nice chilled environment with a bin, tap and honesty box. easy access to the beach for a swim. some spots aren't level but you're right on the ocean so what can you expect. honesty box emptied and bins checked while we were there.

  • 5/5

One of the most amazing informal campsites you’ll ever see. Free water. £10 per night in the honesty box. Good 4g coverage. Nearest toilet disposal is at the ferry ports in Berneray and Lochmaddy. The most unbelievably white sand beach with machair landscape. Only suitable for self contained Mh due to lack of toilets. The track is bumpy and rutted but perfectly doable (6.5m mh).

Such a beautiful place! Plenty of space, when we were there there were about 10 vans/cars and it was so quiet and idyllic. We went to sleep and woke up hearing the waves and terns. Loved it.

  • 5/5

Lots of space next to gorgeous beaches with clear shallow water. Bin and water available. Honesty box suggested £10 per night. We stayed for 2 nights in glorious weather but even so, the wind got up a few times.

  • 5/5

TRAUMHAFT!!!

Incredible spot, the views are to die for! Bumpy road in, but manageable. £10 donation in an honesty box. Working fresh water tap today (28/8) and bin.

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot overlooking the Clachan Sands beach. Lots of space for a number of vans. Honesty box for donations recommended. There was no fresh water available though. Great for early ferry to Harris and there is a waste disposal point at the terminal too.

  • 5/5

Fabulous spot for an overnight. Track down is a bit bumpy but nothing to worry about for a smaller van. Lots of choice for spots and good value at £10 (honesty box). Very quiet and handy for early ferry to Harris.

  • 5/5

Great facilities - fresh water, bins and fairly near the chemical disposal at the harbour. You can get plenty of spots right by the beach. Site asks for donations.

  • 5/5

Gorgeous, quiet place. There are more spots up to the left, some of them fairly level. Stunning sunsets possible, with the sun setting over the sea between the islands in late May.

  • 5/5

Hier wird genügend Platz geboten, wir waren für eine Nacht hier. Der Weg ist, sofern man langsam fährt, gut zu bewältigen und dafür bekommt man einen tollen Blick auf das Meer geboten

  • 5/5

    Super viel Platz, wunderschöne Aussicht!

  • 5/5

Amazing spot, plenty of space and fresh water as well. 10/10

  • 5/5

Fabulous spot with plenty of room for motorhomes and campervans. View of the beautiful beach with good access. Once the road ends follow the track up a sheepish climb and drop down onto the parking area. Water and bin supplied, picnic tables all for £10 in the honesty box. One of the best stop overs!

Road in isn't too bad if tackled slowly. Gorgeous beaches await you. Drinking water and honesty box there.

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot. Beaches are absolutely stunning. Difficult road to drive down but definitely worth it. Honesty box (£10) and fresh eggs to buy as well as running water.

  • 4/5

Superb beautiful location, wasn’t too crowed when we stayed (about 6 other vehicles). Honesty box £10 per night and you can also get fresh eggs there also using honest box. No toilets but there is a fresh water tap. Great for a night but beware of the midgies! No 3 or 4G and no phone signal on Three but a little on Vodafone.

  • 5/5

One of the best park ups on the Uists. Just stunning! I have 4G on EE here. Great to have water and a bin. Pls please don’t pop in the dunes and leave it. Such a shame to see loo roll etc from previous campers. There is a bin so bag it and put it in the bin.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot. track was fine for us. at least 10 vans and does not feel atall crowded. great for sunsets on the beach.

  • 5/5

Really nice spot and lovely beach. 4G signal not too great here.

  • 5/5

Best site location I've ever visited and a must for anyone staying on the Isle. stunning beaches!

  • 5/5

Gorgeous - only two other vans and lots of space to be separated. Super quiet with no houses around! £10 payable by honesty box

  • 5/5

Stunning vista. Two amazing white sand beaches. One in front if camp area is shallow and warm. Tap and short hose. One large bin, but very popular site, could do with a second, or empty more often. Worth the stony track, and payment.

  • 5/5

Absolutely stunning spot! The way there is quite rocky but absolutely worth it. No toilets or showers but there’s tap water and picnic tables. Will definitely come back if around!

  • 5/5

A great spot to stay, lovely view of the beach! Agree with most other comments but feel area is comfortably suitable for 10 motorhomes, many more would be a squeeze, not mostly flat at all! Also nice there’s a bin and running water, recommended!

  • 4/5

Lovely spot with great views, windy night but a peaceful area, with access to the beach below down from the rocks, water tap, no phone signal, £10 honest box.

  • 5/5

Perfect place for overnight parking and camping with beautiful views and beach access. Plenty of space (enough for around 20 pitches) and mostly flat. Tap with running cold water and a bin are the only amenities. Honesty box is £10 per night which people are encouraged to use. Ideal place for some stargazing!

  • 4/5

Fantastic views shame there’s no 3G/4G but what a spectacular beach

  • 5/5

Clachan Sands Camping Spot has several flat spaces for motorhomes. There is a water tap for refilling and a small honesty box asking for £10 to stay the night - lovely spot overlooking an amazing white sandy beach.

Der absolute Traumstrand. Die Aussicht ist herrlich. Halb wildes campen. Wir blieben drei Nächte.
