I work around there sometimes (I work for council) and wouldn’t recommend staying there overnight not very secure and many undesirables
Parking dans quartier résidentiel. Rue sans sortie mais avec beaucoup d'espace. Nous avons demandé à plusieurs voisins qui nous ont confirmé la possibilité de se garer sans problème. Nous ne l'utilisons que pour visiter la ville. (50min à pied) Arrêt de bus à proximité.
Parking in residential area. Street without exit but of ample space. We asked several neighbors who confirmed the possibility of parking without any problem. We only use it to visit the city. (50min walk) Bus stop nearby.
Parken im Wohngebiet. Straße ohne Ausgang, aber mit ausreichend Platz. Wir haben mehrere Nachbarn gefragt, die uns bestätigt haben, dass das Parken problemlos möglich ist. Wir nutzen es nur, um die Stadt zu besichtigen. (50 Minuten zu Fuß) Bushaltestelle in der Nähe.
Parking en zona residencial. Calle sin salida pero de amplio espacio. Preguntamos a varios vecinos que nos confirmaron la posibilidad de aparcar sin ningún problema. Nosotros solo lo utilizamos para visitar la ciudad. (50min andando) Parada de autobús cercana.

I'm a local of Portsmouth and would not at all recommend parking here. Sure, it's opposite the ferry port but this is not a secure area by any stretch, and has a high footfall of dubious characters. From the outside it might look okay with few visible signs, but this is just because the City council remove these visual scars (due to its location on the way into the city).
