Großer Parkplatz direkt an einem Park. Alle Plätze eben und Nachts ruhig.

Parfait, calme, en pleine nature, c'est un parc entretenu avec chemins de randonnée ouvertes aux chiens aux chevaux, vélos et humains. Adapté aux handicaps. Nous étions 4 camping cars. Proximité de tous commerces et de la ville historique. Nous recommandons

A nice place to overnight. There were a few other vans there when we stayed but plenty of space. A popular place for dog walkers but quiet later on. Easy access from main road.

Perfect spot for visiting Durham. Stayed here two nights. Had the place to ourselves Friday night, 5 band here Saturday night. Lots of picnic benches, large open field and lots of walks in the area. 5 mins from Howlands P&R which has motorhome specific parking bays and a cheap bus service into the city centre. Stayed here last summer too. We'll likely use it again

Arrived early evening. was very quiet all night. 1 other van parked. fairly big car park. Nice walks around the outskirts of Durham

This is a well-known dogging site. After my second visit I was approached by a man making it very clear to me he was interested in dogging.

loads of flat parking. No restrictions. 20 spaces. Litter bins and loads of walks. Quiet and peaceful.

Four stars only for the sheer amount of trash, both bins overflowing, trash all over the parking lot and ground. Beautiful spot, plenty of picnic tables, large lot- easy to park and the locals are so friendly and talkative.

I spent two very peaceful nights midweek here after visiting Durham and Beamish. Lots of dog walkers morning and evening. Nice walks. Three stars because it only has waste bins & a doggie poo bin. I would return.

Nice park; picnic areas, bins & walks), Well used by friendly locals. Good size parking area. Good signals, protection from tree line & although you can hear passing traffic, it's not overwhelming. All quiet by 8pm. No issues with boy racers (Mon Tue night). Sadly, lots of trash around. Great nights sleep.

Coin très agréable, un peu de passage sur les chemins de randonnées. Très populaire pour les ballades des chiens le matin et le soir.

Coin tranquille, nous avons passé une nuit très calme. Quelques jeunes sont venus se poser rapidement, il y a des promeneurs qui sont là avec leur chien mais aucun problème avec eux. Tesco et Lidl à 20 minutes à pied. Bus proche pour visiter Durham.

Due to comment below I was hesitant but I'm glad we stayed there,super quiet with loads of walks around, mainly dog walkers,bikers and runners! Recommend highly!

I'd love to have given this spot 5 stars. I would have done if the local wide boys hadn't turned up in numbers at 9.00 pm with tyres squealing and music blaring. I think we were just unlucky. We hot footed it to the car park just by the Beamish museum. It was simple and quiet with lots of woodland trails nearby.

This is a great stop hardstanding car park. On the edge of a park. Very quiet no problems police drive through occasionally.

We stayed here for two nights in August it’s a lovely park up for a night doggie walks a plenty and the only we there was foot prints. if we ever in Durham we would stay again. Recommend.

Arrived at night, couple of cars/vans parked with young couples but felt totally safe. Great location for walks and breakfast on the picnic tables, everyone very friendly in the morning.

Really lovely spot. Runners and dog walkers came and went and even two ladies riding horses. Plenty of space and no issues. Paths into town or Bishop Auckland.

Very pleasant quiet spot to park. Great walks. Many people walking dogs. Cars and dog walkers arrive fairly early but not a problem. Definitely recommend this spot

Estupendo sitio para descansar y dormir tranquilo, tan solo gente haciendo deporte y paseando a los perros.

Late August and we were the only camper here last night. There were a couple of cars circling in the wide end butvthey weren't noisy and at the narrow end we weren't bothered by them. All quiet before midnight. Nice quiet night.

Great car park, private and accessble to shopping and local transport to access Durham center, the cathedral is well worth a visit. It's not lit at night and only a few local lads around at night but they are not interested in campers so no problem. Lots of dog walkers and great for cycle rides and dog walks. One of the best free stops in England so far this trip. Only amenities are bins.

Quelques jeunes venus s'amuser avec les voitures mais à minuit tout est devenu calme. Tables de pique-nique, petites poubelles.

Stayed on a Tuesday night August 2018. Arrived midnight and left 9.30. No lighting, no height barriers, very quiet. Used as a stopover from A1. Durham Services wanted £25 for longer than 2 hours.

Lugar ideal para pasar la noche muy tranquilo. Ideal para visitar Durham (media hora caminando, 1,5 millas); como lugar de paso a Edimburgo por la costa.

Grand parking près d'un parc. Nous y étions un vendredi soir et des jeunes sont venus écouter de la musique et faire des dérapages de minuit à 2h du matin. (Nous aurions mis plus d’étoiles s'il n'y avait pas eu ce petit inconvénient)

Beaucoup de place, parking gratuit et plat au bord d'un park. Calme mis à part effectivement les gens qui viennent y traîner le soir et les promeneurs la journée mais rien de bien méchant.

On our trip through the UK we encountered a lot of dog owners but also the occasional youngsters sitting in one or more cars. Like us campers, these teens seek a quiet place to park too. It is not ideal, but in our experience the teens always left quickly and before we went sleeping.

Der Platz sah auf den ersten Blick einladend aus, allerdings lungerten schon einige Jugendliche mit ihren Autos herum. Die Burnout Reifen Spuren am Boden sahen für uns eher nach weiterfahren aus.
