Lovely pub stopover before Glastonbury, arrived late sunday. Mark the landlord offered us pints and sandwiches despite closing up. Ended up drinking and chatting with him, michaela and owen (also staff) for hours. What a pleasure, such lovely people with interesting stories. We will be back without a doubt… we even got given free vegan brownies! Bunch of legends ♥️

Wanted to stay there as it was highly recommended. However, there are several permanent motorhomes and mobiles homes in the carpark and some dodgy looking people in there. Did not feel safe as a female solo-traveler so I moved on

Mark is a legend. Arrived late Sunday night. New hard standing and EHU in the car park. Mark was setting up pub for next day (closed) and quick knock on window resulted in me, Mrs, littlun and dog inside with drinks and offer of whipping up some food. Got number so next time passing is drop him a message and he can stick some food on or have pub open. You can’t ask for more.

We met the Landlord Bob, he was very friendly. great hospitality and good food. good price and big portions. The pub is nice and warm and despite a few potholes in the car park, the ground is fairly level to park. and for free.

Dan, the landlord, allowed us to park overnight in large carpark which had several, possibly permanent, caravans already parked up. There was metered electricity but we didn't use it. They didn't have the faggots dish and the area by the fire was reserved but we ate Dirty-ish Fries which were delicious. There was a little on-site vehicle noise overnight.

Arrived just after 10pm after 7 hours driving. Popped head in and lovely staff saying course you can park overnight. Old school pub which we loved, kids and dog welcome. Had a few drinks to wind down after the drive, thank you. 2 other vans in car park of which both were in the pub. Single track style roads inbetween the village to be aware dependant on size of your vehicle. Would stay again.

Very good place. Owners are very friendly. It was very quiet as well despite a decent amount of people. I recommend the place.

very nice place , food was excellent , staff all very friendly, had ehu , no complaints, a few narrow roads on the way in from the A39 , just do your homework and you will be fine

fairly large car park to park up. friendly staff, food was good. no facilities but you can use the loo when the pub is open.

Stopped here tonight dident want to eat or drink but we insisted we paid something so pub owner poped £5 in charity box from us . There was around 7 vans here (Easter Sunday ) there was noise from people getting into cars until 2pm but I think it’s a quiet pub otherwise I think the pub had a few bands on

large level carpark, friendly landlord, use the pub

Not very good 4G is the only reason it’s not getting a 5, pub was nice and friendly. There was loud music at one point but went quiet before we went to sleep so no issues.

Fijne en zeer rustige overnachting gehad. Je kan hier serieus goed eten en drinken. En daarna lekker slapen in je campertje. Geen voorzieningen verder.

Super authentic British pub, which even sells tasty veg burgers, good beers and ciders. The pub owner was very friendly and chatty, although he was a little drunk. We stayed with many other campers on this hidden spot in a small village.

Great little pub, very welcoming, quiet, great food and beer. Definitely worth a stop off here if passing.

Lviss and Karen, from the moment we walked into this pub we were made to feel welcome. By the owners Jan and Dan, meet bob and Roxy as well. The food was gorgeous, we were supposed to stay for one night but the next day there was a life band extravaganza hosted by seed.com. The Front Garden Music Festival. So we stayed another night and drank and ate some more. 6 stars out 5, if possible

big quiet carpark, friendly pub who seem Ok with campers as long as they use the pub.

  • 5/5

Friendly traditional pub with welcoming roaring fire, good range of ales and ciders, excellent pub food with a tempting selection of daily specials. Large level gravel car park. Best book ahead for weekends but not bad midweek.

  • 5/5

Such a warm welcome, hook up and water refill no problem. Flat gravel car park. Food excellent, lovely country pub, landlords couldn’t do enough for you, definitely be returning.

Amazing pub! Great food, lovely cosy open fire, lots of parking spaces. Very friendly landlord and staff. Pool table, dart board. Surrounded by beautiful countryside. Close enough to Glastonbury/cheddar gorge etc. Thumbs up from us!

  • 5/5

Fantastic food and super friendly staff, free stopover and hook up for a fiver if required!

  • 5/5

Simple stop and shared the car park with four other vans. We repaid the kindness by eating in the pub and the food was excellent. Can recommend the steak and ale pie served with fresh veg, gravy and proper home-made chips!

  • 4/5

Brilliant pub. Excellent food. The only reason I've not given it 5* is because there was a party in the car park until 11pm which we were not told about when we booked a table! But I'm sure that doesn't happen every night! Definitely recommend!

  • 5/5

Excellent overnight stay, even though it was the England Denmark game we were made more than welcome. My wife’s comment was it’s the best meal out in a long time. Definitely recommend this place well done.

Really friendly staff who were very happy for us (and another pair of van dwellers) to stay. A toasty warm fire in the hearth, good beer and really good quality food on offer in the pub as well.
