Wouldn’t describe it as a particular nice place to stay but that may be more a reflection of the weather than the place! It was safe and quiet and decent enough for a night.

stayed her over the weekend for 2 nights. was only planning on 1 night, but it was so peaceful and a great location for the monsall Trail and bakewell Town Centre. we parked right under the arches of the old railway bridge. It wasn't truly flat, but it wasn't that noticeable. lovely watching the lambs in the morning while walking the dog. I will definitely stay again if in the area.

We parked up right under the bridge for one night. Lovely quiet spot down a dead end farm road. Only saw the farmer himself and a few locals dog walking early hours of the morning. Woke up with a beautiful view of hills and sheep! :) as others have said it’s not level but if you’re in a van or larger car like us you can easily park each wheel over the dip :)

stayed here 3rd Dec 2022, such a beautiful town with nice people. this park up was really good, very quiet and I guess because dark early. no noise and 0.5 miles from town. only marked 4 out of 5 due to limited width to park.

A bit narrow, not massively level but plenty of good spots. We parked next to a lovely little stream and field with horses. A 20-minute walk to town which was fine but i didn’t love the long dark way home from dinner. Lovely morning though!

place seemed okay, pretty flat surface at the end of the road under the bridge. didn't stay night as felt very strange in there, even though it's only 4 mins from town felt very scary under that bridge. visited at the end of november

Sehr ruhiger Platz! perfekt um mit dem Monsal Trail zu starten. Wir haben eine sehr ruhige Nacht verbracht. Lediglich am Morgen fuhren ein paar landwirtschaftliche Fahrzeuge.

Good location, you are parking along a dead end road leading to one farm and one remote house. The farmers are very friendly. It is possible to easily turn around at a junction just BEFORE the ex-railway bridge. Someone commented they couldn't even hear the trains...that may have had something to do with the last train having used it in 1960s Plenty of walking to be done in the area.

Not a bad little park up all things considered. It’s not perfectly flat but more than acceptable for one nights stay. It’s pretty much a dead end road with very few vehicles passing by. Would stay here again.

didn't stay the night but another van did. 20min walk into town and access to some walks near by, will return to this one.

Parked for a night. Managed to park under the bridge. Easy walk into Bakewell. Nice and quiet. Recommend.

Ideal for sheltering away from the weather if you can get the spot underneath the arch at the end. Great for walking, jogging, cycling or dogs woth lots of routes to choose from. 4G Signal was very good and the people I met are very friendly. Can be a but muddy though in wet weather and it's not entirely flat. A few far vehicles passed in the morning. The only complaint is the noisy pheasants!

A very quiet and flat road. A lot of people will park here in the day for walking, however if you come early/later you should get a spot. 5min walk into centre of Bakewell.

Busy free parking road for Bakewell and Monsall trail walkers as its close to both. the parking is a bit rough with potholes & mud in winter currently and very popular. Far end near trail looks good for overnight stays when it empties with daytripper parking and easy to walk into town for shops, pubs etc.

Really quiet spot . next to the start of the monsal trail . stayed 2 nights . no problem . 1st night we stayed under the bridge . next night along side the stream.

  • 5/5

Great spot , I parked under the railway bridge as it's flat and doesn't obstruct any farmers access . Just had a quiet peaceful night , no trains at all .

  • 5/5

I stayed here tonight , no other vans very peaceful and safe , no noise after 9 pm , few cars parked when I arrived approx 4 pm , as the start of the Monsal Trail but once they went was very quiet . Would definitely use again no facilities good WiFi reception approx mile into Bakewell also pretty town

Far end of a no through road where vehicles park up to use the cycling and walking Monsal Trail. Based on other comments I gave it a go for two nights whilst I was visiting Bakewell and cycling the trail. This was late June 2021, no issues and no-one else there once the days trail users had gone home. Just under a mile flat walk to Bakewell where there's plenty going on. Recommended.

Long quiet country road with space to park on the side. Not very flat so used chocks. 1 other camper there. If you drive further enough along to the bridge their is a place where you can turn your vehicle around. Not far out of Bakewell. A good location

Great spot. Can get a touch muddy, and isn't totally flat, but other than that it's perfect.

  • 5/5

Spent a nice quiet night here, quite a few dog walkers until about 8, but all friendly even the farmer on his quad bike smiled. Highly recommended.

  • 4/5

Really quiet after 7pm, next to Monsal trail so walkers and cyclists in mornings but lovely spot all the same. really close to bakewell, walk down the lane.

  • 4/5

No though road that has restricted parking for the first half. Second half has small lay-by areas where you can park during the day/night free of charge and walk into Bakewell (5mins) or join onto the Monsal trial (2mins). Was very quiet after 8pm until 7am the following morning when walkers arrived. Good spot

I stayed here for 3 nights in August. It's busy during the day but once we were parked it's only a 20 minute walk into bakewell. Great place to take the dog as well with 2 off road walks right next to it

  • 4/5

Great location for accessing the Monsal Trail before it gets too busy. Us and one other van were parked up for the night. Was quite a bit cooler than other spots as near a stream and in a valley so it was quite chilly. No facilities nearby but less than a mile walk to Bakewell centre for pubs etc. Better suited to small vans as verge parking and lots of people parking on the road in the day to access the trail makes it difficult for larger vans/motor homes.
