We arrived at 4am, after a 6hr drive from Yorkshire. Fantasy night sleep, little noise from the road, enough spaces for campervans and motor homes, however only 3 flat areas without large pot holes. We were the only ones there, but can see how it could get very busy in some months. Great views of the landscape.
sitio cómodo aunque un poco cerca de la carretera de más. hay dos plazas mejor situadas como hacia los árboles, las otras plazas quedan como un poco en medio de nada. algo ruidosa la carretera, aunque no con demasiado tráfico. para pasar una noche no está mal. las vistas a la bahía son agradables. no llegar muy tarde. hay algún bache que si llueve se llena con bastante agua
Good flat ground, room for several vans. Set back from the road but still close, so some traffic noise. Quite a few honking horns up to late at night and early in the morning. Great sunrise!
Yes it’s next to a road but on the other side you have views over the Moray Firth and surrounding hills. There were 5 vans overnight and we spent a nice night once the usual traffic stopped. No facilities. Nice stopover.
A very nice spot with great views, which we shared with seven other motorhomes, campervans, jeeps etc, so it was pretty rammed!
Quite close to the road which was quiet overnight. We did hear a few honking horns from passing vehicles from 6am, hence only the 4 stars.
It was absolutely poring down in the morning so we didn't manage to see the dolphins at Chanonry Point, which was a real shame.
belle vue et proche de chanonry point our voir les dauphins le matin. parking remplis avec 4 autre motorhome mais calme, route proche mais peu utilisée la nuit (début de traffic vers 7h fin vers 21h) et belle vue sur la baie
Ist für eine Nacht okay, von Freitag auf Samstag war es sogar ruhig vom Verkehr her! Sind dann direkt früh weitergefahren um am Chanonry Point nach Delfinen Ausschau zu halten 1 Stunde nach der Low tide waren sie dann da, richtig nah am Strand entlang! Sehr zu empfehlen :)
Parking con vistas al lago, parecía tranquilo hasta que en la madrugada llegó un coche con dos jóvenes y empezaron a indagar entre las caravanas, causando una pelea con un dueño.
nuit gratuite,pas mal de place mais route extrêmement passante, les voiture roule super vite juste a côté, on ce croirais en bord de circuit. quelques coups de klaxon.
I came across this after driving 7 hours to start the North coast 500 on the 4th july I came across this lay-by/ parking area which was nice and quiet at 9pm there was 4 motor homes and 1 other car it was slighty overgrown but nothing to bad the downside is this morning(5th july) is a couple of locals needed to make their opinion heard by beeping there horn while passing by.
haben hier mit 6 anderen gestanden. nachts ist es sehr ruhig, es fahren kaum Autos auf der Straße.
Windstill ist es nicht, und Schatten/bisschen Versteckmöglichkeiten hat man auch nicht.
I stayed the night before last (Thursday), no canons going off at any time.
The road is very close but quiet at night, great view down the other way.
Lovely spot for a night.
Déjà plusieurs campings cars à mon arrivée vers 21h (tard je l'avoue). Jolie vue mais cela doit être mieux à marée haute, on ne choisit pas.
Pas mal de passage la nuit mais on est à quelques mètres de la route donc ça passe.
Aller surtout le lendemain matin à Chanonry Point pour voir les dauphins !!!
Not a bad spot, not far from the A9, whose lay-byes are all too near the carriageway and too small. There were 2 other motorhomes there when I arrived, but they left early, presumably when the bird scarer started. I woke with that at about 6am, but slept through it quite comfortably til 9am. I would imagine the wildfowlers will get annoyed with campers during the shooting season though.
Très beau spot ! Il y a des coups de canons d’air, étonnant au début mais on finit rapidement par s’y habituer. Cela s’arrête pendant la nuit et redémarre le matin, il y a un peu de circulation mais rien de gênant ! Attention au vent !
I had an interesting night here with beautiful views across Munlochy Bay and a stunning sunset sky accompanied by a bird scarer gas cannon randomly firing until dark and starting again very early in the morning as daylight arrived. The traffic wasn’t too disturbing and even though the cannon woke me at about 5.45am, I went straight back to sleep again. Good 4G signal, picnic table but no bins.
We didn't sleep well because of the road really close to the spot. Cars start to pass around 5:30am until 11pm. Besides that there is a air pressure canon right in the field beneath the spot that fires every 30min. Great view but really bad spot if you want to have a restful night.
We were joined by 6 others last night, it was so cosy.
A Beautiful firey sunset accompanied us as the evening drew to a close.
A spot on location for the beginning of new adventures.
Stopped here on the way up the east coast on NC500. I would not recommend stopping there as it was a pretty exposed location and much worse : a blasting canon was (recently?) installed in a nearby field (about 50 yards) to scare birds away. It results in 2 to 4 loud blasts every 10 to 20 minutes, until about 10 pm and starting at exactly 6:13 am the day we were there.
Loved it here very peaceful and beautiful views, stayed here with 2 others, big place, far enough off main road, few toots in the morning but nothing to complain about!
Perfect stop for us. Beautiful view. No facilities but we are off grid. Bit of road noise but quietened right down by the time we went to bed. Highly recommend.

Good view & small walks nearby, no facilities. People did honk as passing & someone got picked up at 3:45 in the morning. So not the best sleep but can’t complain as it was free. We stayed here as we seen dolphins at chantry point & went back first thing in the morning & had breakfast there.
Had a beautiful stay! Shared the space with 5 other vans, most bigger than ours. The view was incredible in the morning and very peaceful. A couple locals honked as they drove past but nothing else.
No facilities or bin and pretty muddy, but wow what a view.
Really good little spot, arrived and it was empty (8pm in September), another van joined us shortly after but overall was incredibly peaceful with a lovely little picnic bench to eat breakfast at. We left around 7am and traffic was beginning to pick up but it was never too noisy or a nuisance.
We thought of staying overnight but decided to just have lunch there instead. space for 5/6 motorhomes. Bird watching point and dog walkers too. Next to an A road, so the odd turning car comes in, otherwise, quiet stop.
Stopped here with the intention of stopping for the night but soon left. The furthest part from the road is less than 10 metres and there's cars going at 60mph every 10 seconds. Views quite good, would be alright in a pinch. Found a much better stop 30 mins away.
Parked here as it has a great view of both countryside and some of the Firth. There is some road noise from the nearby road as vehicles pass at 50-60, however it's minimal after 22:30 until 06:45.
No water, services or waste bins but there are some picnic tables. Please keep it clean as it's a great spot for overnight.
