I’m sure this would be a great place but have a plan B. When we arrived it appeared to be full of people who had set up a permanent camp and there was no space
Very quiet car park. Several local dog walkers parking throughout the day but no one after 7pm. Joined by another campervan later last night. Nice local walks. Town centre 10 minute walk away. Lovely view on the bridge. Watch out for the red squirrels. Lots of wildlife.
Fantastic little Forestry Commission car park. Stayed 1 night. A few signs saying no overnight camping but several local dog walkers chatted to us and said nobody ever bothers about the signs- they suspect the local campsites have had them put up.
