The big parking it's only for the customers of the pub but just by the side of the river is a small parking lot with no prohibition for over night staying.Pub opens from 5pm.
Lovely spot. Careful though, one picture shows the pub car park which has a ‘no overnight parking’ sign up. 10 meters away is a lay-by with no restrictions. Very quiet nights sleep. You’re on the river Wear walkway here so busy in morning, joggers, dog walkers, cyclists etc. Did the usual litter pick before leaving , as a thanks for the free stop. There was a large empty bin on the corner.
Lovely spot with a nice walk to the Greek style temple monument on the hill. Down side it is quite small uneven ground though you can find flat bits and narrow access road. Busy when we arrive but thinned out later
