10 minutes from ferry port so extremely convenient, there were some cars flying up and down the road at daft speed which made the van shake. Was also police chase around 00:00 also with a guy on an electric bike. Field right next door which was good for nipping the dogs on before bed and first thing in the morning. Overall- Good if catching an early ferry, would not stay for any other reason!

Donc, en référence au commentaire précédent not sure it’s due to overnighters.

Pretty soon this spot will get the local council putting signs up due to the amount of waste left behind . I’ve seen shopping /cooking waste on the kerb side plus items left behind whereby a person has had an accident as in not got to the loo in time . 3 bins on the fence line plus more in the actual park . No excuse . It’s good for walking up the ridge long n great views up there

lovely location to catch the early ferry ...or so we thought. it was totally spoiled by chavs racing up and down in noisy cars from 11pm to 12.30am and loads of youths standing nearby shouting and cheering them on !

  • 5/5

    Lovely peaceful night!

  • 5/5

Parked here for the night in our motorhome before catching the morning ferry to Calais. Nice and peaceful most of the time. Nice large field and wooded area opposite for walking the dog.

  • 4/5

Stayed 13/08. No problems but just an FYI there was a football club on from around 6pm so lots of cars turning up and leaving, no issues though. Perfect for dog owners, 10 mins from ferry. Not great signal on EE. You can get the van almost level by pulling one side onto the kerb (and get yourself further off the road.)

Very convenient stop before the ferry. Good dog walks up the hill through the recreation ground. It's just a road, but works fine.

Great, quiet spot next to a school.

  • 5/5

good spot. safe. come off ferry with my van and trailer. parked up. mainly people walking there dogs in a nice field.

  • 5/5

We arrived at 10pm, plenty of spaces and very quiet, park at the top end of the road as it away from any houses, we would definitely use this place again. There were 6 other vans here with us.

  • 3/5

Great place normally but Valefest on tonight 27/7 so music is noisy. No idea when it stops. Leaving for another spot

  • 5/5

Safe quiet spot at top of the road next to what looks like rural/park area. Arrived at midnight for a quick kip before the early morning ferry. Felt safe as plenty of other campers there.

  • 5/5

Quiet place, flat ground towards the top. 4 other here at same time, was feeling safe. cars started coming passed around 7am, but quiet through the night.

  • 3/5

Nice quiet spot however cars driving past through the night, also parked at the top of the hill and there was noise from some animal (badger?!) in the woods..

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Just leaving here for ferry now. Was two other vans. Nice and quiete only a few cars up to about 11pm then quite . Birds singing around 430, but I love listening to nature. Playing field opposite and locals walking round edge with dog. Plenty bins to clean up after your dog. Ten fifteen mins to ferry. Would recomend.

ideal for a night's rest before an early ferry crossing. spent the evening here no other vans parked. super quiet if you go to the top of the hill. Nice view of the park area and doesn't disturb anyone. A few locals out and about all were very polite and didn't seem to mind a van parked here. no bins so take everything with you. felt safe for the night as a solo female vanlifer.

I used to (up to about 2 years ago) park up here overnight everytime I came to Dover, and so did many more before taking the boat over to France. There were also usually the odd truck staying over night here, but last night it was just me! That made me a bit weary... why? Has something happened here? I don't know. Said that, I had a great and very quiet night.

  • 5/5

Quiet place next to some playing fields. On a hill. The further you gp up the flatter. 63 bus from down the road straight to town centre. Or walk to the bottom of the hill for more ftequent services. 10 mins or so to the ferries.

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Good place to spend the night, close to ferries. A bit unleveled ground.

  • 3/5

OK spot. It is at the end of a residential street so not much in the way of privacy. We were there midweek and experienced about 5 or 6 boyracers but it was quiet past 10pm. No amenities whatsoever but only a 5 minute drive to the ferry port.

  • 5/5

perfect quiet stop over before the ferry.

  • 3/5

We stopped here before the getting a ferry the next morning. Was a good spot, yet quite spooky. There was one other camper parked under a streetlight, we were not. Quite a few cars driving past at different times in the night so if this bothers you, take note.

  • 5/5

Spent a night before morning ferry....Was OK...BUT...boy racers in the night ,tearing past at 60mph was annoying.. However it was a Saturday night so cannot comment midweek.. Was however good for ferry, only 5 mins away.

  • 5/5

Nice and quiet. Lovely park opposite for the dogs. Used before getting the ferry.

  • 4/5

    Good spot before the ferry.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Sehr schöner ruhiger Platz, Park gegenüber, Hunde dürfen frei laufen

  • 5/5

A great peaceful place to park wonderful playing area for your furry friends and a play area for the small people in your life (your children)

  • 5/5

Sehr guter Parkplatz.

  • 1/5

Had my tyre slashed during night which then meant that had to get another ferry ticket. Would not stay here

  • 5/5

    Sehr gut, alles wie beschrieben.

  • 5/5

Very quiet and plenty of spaces

  • 5/5

Stayed here for 1 night prior to getting the ferry. Quiet location, few other campers arround. Road much more level by the field slightly further up!

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Nice and level further up the road. Very few cars after 10pm. Convenient for getting an early morning ferry.

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Near perfect! OK, there are no provisions such as water etc, but as long as you have everything in your motor home, this is a great place to spend the night or day. I have now stayed here mid week, during a Friday and even two nights during school holidays, and had no issues or problems at all. All hard standing side of the road. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 due to lack of any provisions.
