(BT34 5XL) Newry - Kilkeel Road

A wonderful view but I would recommend you don't stay here overnight. The road is incredibly busy and fast. At 8pm a car drove in and did doughnuts right next to me until I switched my engine and lights on, then they left. It was a moonless pitch black, overcast rainy night yet there were cars coming and going late into the night, obvs not for the view, and discarding their takeaway litter. Sad.

truly a wonderful view by the dam. we stayed on a thursday and it was quiet until about 9pm when 3-4 cars came through with music blaring, and then squealing tires for a while. didn't stay the night for the noise.

it's a good-sized car park with public toilets. that's where the 2 stars come from. I hated the night here. the car park was watched by a guy from the deer meadows car park with binoculars (where I was just before I came to this car park); this guy came later over and checked out all camper vans. dodgy. during the night, there were youths in cars spinning their wheels which left us all sleepless.

Beautiful location next to the reservoir. Toilets opposite & plenty of bins. Peaceful night despite the strong winds- we had the place to ourselves.

Stopped to make a midmorning coffee in our van. Gorgeous view and public toilets were open when we visited (around 1pm on a Saturday). Picnic tables and a short pier down to the reservoir - no bathing allowed.

Bit noisy and windy but the views were amazing, toilets open in the morning time!

We had a really nice one night stopover. Plenty of bins and picnic tables but no other facilities as the toilets were locked and there is no Radar key access. Gorgeous views, but it was very windy and it poured with rain overnight. I wanted to walk the nearby hills but there is no access for dogs, even when they are kept on a lead. The road is busy during the day but very quiet at night.

no problems what so ever the toilets were not open when we was there beautiful scenery and yes cars do pass but only like a stop at side of the road we had no problems with it

As per previous comments we had a strange experience with some dodgy characters parking beside us within minutes of arrival on a week night’. Definitely felt like an unsafe place which I’d say to avoid at night.

Achtung: Der Platz scheint nett aber wir hatten in der Nacht eine unschöne Begegnung mit einem Mann der vermutlich unter Drogen gestanden ist. Er wollte in unser Auto einbrechen als wir schlafen wollten. Wenn Sie hier schlafen nicht alleine. wollten die Polizei rufen aber hatten keinen Empfang. Sind um 1 Uhr schnell weg nachdem er es bei allen Türen probiert hat einzubrechen. nie wieder.

stunning location with beautiful views. Public toilets open, picnic tables and bins available, no Internet or phone reception. Busy during the day. Quiet from 6pm-10pm. A large number of vehicles arrived 10pm-1pm, revving engines, doing donuts and speeding about.

Nice area with great views over the dam. Picnic benches and bin available aswell as toilets. The road is fairly quiet at night but during the day cars and lorry's do go past so is noisier. No signal on EE or Three

Level parking. Beautiful views. Spent several daytime hours here but decided against staying night as boyracers have left tyre burns doing donuts. WC was locked. 4G intermittent. Very windy. Saturday 19.03.22

Nice place nice view but again no 4G

Stayed here for one night. The views are beautiful there was quite a lot of other vehicles knocking about but as soon as the sun set it really quietened down. The odd car going past. Some nice little walks in the area. The toilet block was closed I’m assuming due to COVID. Signal is intermittent not a bad thing really.

Toilets were not open neither on Saturday nor on Sunday :-(

Beautiful spot! Amazing lake views, leveled and very quiet at night. There are toilet facilities available.

Amazing views, quite a few cars driving past or stopping in the car park on a Saturday night until midnight, but lovely place to hike from and stay

Stunning location. Have stayed there twice only. Seems to be Relatively quiet from about 11pm onwards.
