This is a quaint little campsite, especially the area around the little roundabout, near to the bridge. The nearby pub serves excellent food and has a wide range of beers and wines. There is a lovely little tea shop up the hill and turn right, excellent cakes. We found the toilet/shower block was a letdown as it had no heating whatsoever and considering it was October it was cold.

Lovely picturesque site with great views of peaks on one side and a stream on the other. Muddy pitches in photo on this app have been updated to either bark or gravel. Great facilities but costs £1 for 20 min use of laundry machines and change is difficult to get from them. Owners are friendly but seem a little unorganised and lazy. Pub next door is great, dog friendly and serves good food!

£25 for small van and 2 people without electric for 1 night. Spaces were along the rivers edge so could open the van doors up to it in the morning which was great. Showers 50p for 10mins and hairdryer 20p (although the hairdryer was cold and weak so used the hand dryer instead) Has washing machines available at a charge. Waste disposal, water and WiFi included.

Arrived there on Friday 30th of April 2021. Expecting to find the facilities closed due to COVID however all showers and toilets open. Brilliant site with all new hard standing areas. EHU on all hard standing pitches. £30 pound per night. Showers 50p for 10 minutes. Very hot water and extremely clean. We would definitely stay here again. We were in a Transit Custom camper van. Ideally located for Wasdale Head and all mountains in that area.

We live locally to this campsite and the owners take huge pride in their site. It is always clean, tidy and well kept. The area is beautiful, not far from wastwater (england’s deepest lake), west lakes adventure in eskdale can organise outdoor activities in the local area, the boot inn pub is not a far drive doing vegan, vegetarian food with good real ale. There’s also the bridge house which is a two minute walk from the site. There’s a lovely walk we do from the start of the site that takes you along the river and through the local woodland that loops back to the site (ask at reception for more details). There’s a lovely cafe round the corner (woodland’s tea room), and recently they’ve started doing alpaca trekking in the field next door. Highly recommend.
