CP for the National Trust walk of Sugar Loaf hill. Nice big tarmac area (most level right by the entrance). Fantastic views over the valley and Gilwern, great to start a walk around Monmouthshire’s Sugar Loaf hill so it’s very popular with walkers. A warning though, the road up is very steep! The approach from Abergavenny to the Sugerloaf Vineyards is a tight road with a stone wall to the left. Once you’ve passed the vineyard it really kicks up! 16percent with a cattle grid halfway. Based on that I’d recommend only converted panel vans (LWB will be ok) and Caravelle/Transporters sized vehicles visit.
