Nice size car park. Soft ground in places and only level ground at the front. No signs saying that you can't stay overnight. Nice view of the reservoir. Was another couple of campers and a few people turned up in cars with camping gear so guessing they were heading into the forest behind. Please take your rubbish home with you! If we leave no trace and respect these beautiful spots, we will all benefit in the future ?

Very quite night. 3 vans parked up when I arrived at late evening. One person with hammock on trees which looked ideal. Walkers and dog walkers arrive about 9/10 on a Saturday morning so Carpark gets busy then.

nice quiet area so far friendly locals, I was curious if the motorhome would fit , so loads of room mines 7.4 no worries about overhanging trees, lovely dog walks 2 pubs around a mile away, no signs at all regarding parking

Stayed here last night in car. Was a van already there and Joined later by a 4x4. Very quiet and some sheep turned up

Think I was unlucky as the rest of the reviews are positive. Drove to park on a Fri eve, there was van in car park so initially ok but immediately felt unsafe as there was 4 teenagers/men, unsure as dark in and around the van with lots of items on the floor which weren't camping related. Instinct told me to leave and find another spot. I was unlucky but wanted to add in case other solo female

Great views and plenty of room. Hard ground, so awning pegs were a no go. Plenty of walking routes. Three Merry Lads, great pub close by. Quiet all night but, dog walkers start arriving from approx 6am.

Probably a decent spot but was full of teenagers in hot hatch’s, so nowhere to park and very loud. Quite a slant to the ground so probably only good if you have blocks. Nice scenery about

Great spot overlooking the reservoir, the carpark itself is not at all level but was very quiet with little disturbance throughout the night.

Great place to park. When we visited a car sat there pointed at our van for a while flashing which was a little off putting but left and so we remained there.

I had a really good nights sleep here and a great walk with Rosie in the morning. The phone signal is good. The ground is firm clay but a few degrees sloped. Lots of walking to do around here. Its quite tight when it's full of cars so I was glad not to have parked in an obstructive way... it was rammed when we returned Take your wellies & head up the hill for a great circular 2.5 mile stroll

Amazing views. Quiet. Sadly not level and on an incline. I don’t like using ramps when wild as attracts attention. Not one I’d choose again but was beautiful. Good views and walking.

Dead quiet. Dark at night. Safe. Stayed two nights (left during the day to explore Derwent Dam and Eyam (recommend both). All alone the first night and one other van the second. No disruption at all through the night. Dog walkers parking up until about 5/6pm and after about 9am. No fuss.

Fab location! Very quiet and peaceful, few vans came later in the eve. Few potholes in the car park and on bit of a slope but still a comfortable night sleep. Brill spot to walk from or swim in the reservoir. Good pub nearby called the Merry Lads.

It's peaceful, but can get a bit busy special early mornings. people riding there bikes or walking their dogs. It's free and I would stay here again.

Beautiful spot, can get signal on some providers. Lovely reservoir view! Quiet but a little of road noise - although the carpark got quite busy in the morning with hikers etc.

Not a bad view of the reservoir, limited parking on level ground but seems pretty nice! Was a lot of broken glass (smashed car window?) here today and other general rubbish, but only 1 other van and a couple cars. Seems like a good spot but you might struggle for level ground. Some youths here earlier but left by 9pm.

Great place to stay, quite at night but busy in the day. Got boxed in by cars in the day. To echo the previous comment, take litter home as the bin was overflowing with beer cans. A lovely walk round the three reservoirs is a must.

This place was the first place we stayed at with the van conversion. Met a lovely couple who inspired us even more to continue with the build. Beautiful scenery, peaceful and pretty. Busy during the day with walkers but quiet on an evening. This place will always remain special for us. Worth a stay and completely free x

A very good spot. Doable without chocks but much comfier with. Nice walk around the 3 reservoirs. Gets busy from 11am, very quiet at night. -Go plant-based -Leave no trace

Beautiful views of the reservoir. Road was super quiet on the night with hardly any trafficat all. plenty of hills and walks to take the dogs on. I'd suggest using chocks as rather uneven ground.

Car camping first timers lovely views of the reservoir, peace and quiet was fantastic. We were there alone no other vehicles with people inside. We did move on to the lay by where other campers were situated for the night.Got a little to spooky what with my over imagination and all. We did go back in the morning to make our coffee and sausage butties before our walk. lovely area. take bug spray

Stayed 11/06/21 - great parking spot, beautiful view and plenty of space - only downside is it is quite busy and loud in the morning with walkers. We also had a car stay late playing music until 1 in the morning - but otherwise a fantastic spot!

We arrived around 6pm...a few vans and cars parked but space for us... Cars went and a few more vans turned up.. Lovely place.. Peaceful night... Hard to find level ground so used chocks.. Great safe place to park

What a beautiful find with gorgeous views of the lake! Quiet little car parking area where we stayed overnight for free with no disturbance. A few other campers there overnight. No toilets or bins, please take your rubbish! We ended up taking rubbish away which was left by others - such a shame that people can’t respect nature! Overall a lovely place to stay!

Spent the night with about 5 other campers. no problems at all. large carpark but only about three level-ish spots, but still needed a chock to make it good. nice scenery with cyclists, walkers, swimmers etc about in the morning. would recommend

Lovely stop over with another 4 vans. Nice and quiet and loads of trails to explore and the WWI training trenches overlooking the reservoirs.

Lovely spot, great view with some nice walks round it. Some young lads turned up at around midnight and woke us up with loud music but they left after about half a hour.

Nice spot with a good view of the reservoir. Busy with walkers during afternoon and morning but once suns down it’s very quiet. Limited flat ground so if it was busy with campers could be an issue

Gorgeous place to stop. Very quiet all night, a couple of other campers there and some tents a little way off. SO MANY MIDGES though so take big spray (we were there in August). Free to park. Please leave it as you find it...or better :)
