Little pull in off Loch Doon road, suitable for 2 cars/tiny campers, or 1 medium sized camper. Level, and an if you go up the steps to the top of the craggy rock you can light a fire in the pits with the most amazing views. Spent a really quiet night here, as hardly any cars passed after 9pm. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stop over. Very quiet and peaceful with great views. Please note !! loch doon can no longer be accessed via carrick forest drive road. We went many miles down this single track road before coming across the blockade and needing to go back. Do not make our mistake !! you must access loch doon from the north on the road that passes loch doon campsite as it is the only open route.

Lovely spot, quiet and flat (early May) A few fire scars and some rubbish around. Police presence on the way into the area. This area is very busy in the summer with tents, caravans and vans, often with loads of rubbish strewn across the land. Please look after it

Good little spot to stop for the night, was quite busy up until 6pm with passing trucks as the roads where having work done but after this was all quiet, the steps at the left of the rock lead up to a space at the top which has lovely views unfortunately was a bit of toilet paper floating about up here where previous people haven’t bothered to pick it up. The bottom where we camped was clean however. Was a good spot with a lot of space their is other laybays along this route but I wouldn’t recomend them.

Really lovely. Probably my favourite site so far on this trip. Fire pit at the top of the hill behind it. No phone signal for EE & Giffgaff/O2 unless you’re on top of the hill. Very quiet on an evening.
