Sadly, new signs have gone up in both carparks saying no overnight parking and inviting you to Stourhead Motorhome parking. Alternatively the Home Guard Club and The Smithy pub isn't that far away.

judestine14/08/2023it's a good place for an overnight stop but unfortunately they've just add a sign to indicate that staying during the night is forbbiden.
Beamzy14/08/2023Great spot for a quiet overnight park up. Probably best to arrive quite late and leave early to not monopolise the parking. Very frequented by dog walkers during daylight hours. No 3G 4G coverage.

Great place to stay the night, secluded and quiet with beautiful walks to king Alfred’s tower. Very peaceful and surrounded by countryside. Zero phone signal or 4g/3G. a great place to watch the sunset too. There are no bins anywhere so take rubbish home and leave no trace.

Lovely super quiet place to stop. Great walks nearby and the impressive tower a few minutes walk away, worth a look. Ground level, recommended

I arrived at 10pm had the place to myself until morning when the dog walkers arrived. no facilities but very quiet and sheltered from wind. lovely walk through cattle field to alfred's tower. please arrive late and leave no trace would highly recommend for a stop over :)

zerosix27/04/2022Vraiment minuscule. Uniquement pour les petits vans. Réseau 4g capricieux. Mieux vaut aller 2km plus loin au parking de la tour du roi Alfred : de la place et du réseau.
BrianandShelagh12/04/2022Great spot as it’s within walking distance of Alfred’s tower, St Paul’s pump and even Stourhead house itself if you like a long walk, 3 miles approx. We got our 8m van in hanging over the foliage.

Stayed for one night, super quiet. Right next to a wood. Almost no traffic, very quiet at night. Just a few dog walkers in the evening and morning. Perfect for a small camper. Would stay here again!
