Lieu au sommet d'une colline ! Une courte piste raide, principalement en béton, mène à une chapelle avec un parking, c'est calme et propre. Pour les petits camping-cars ou les fourgonnettes, il y a un chemin facultatif qui continue derrière la chapelle jusqu'au monument menelaion, c'est rugueux et étroit mais pour notre VW T6 4x4 c'était gérable. Au niveau du monument, vous trouverez une zone nivelée pouvant accueillir 10 campeurs avec des pins / une ombre juste à côté de la ruine. Il y a une vue fantastique sur la ville et la vallée de Sparte. Pas d'eau, pas de service.
Hilltop Spot! A short steep track, mostly concrete, leeds to a chapel with a parking lot, its quiet and clean. For smaller camper or vans there is an optional path that continues behind the chapel to the monument menelaion, it's rough and narrow but for our VW T6 4x4 it was manageable. Up at the monument you will find a leveled area that could fit 10 campers with pines/ shadow right next to the ruin. There is a fantastic view on the city and valley of Sparta. No water, no service.
Hilltop-Spot! Ein kurzer steiler Weg, größtenteils aus Beton, führt zu einer Kapelle mit Parkplatz, die ruhig und sauber ist. Für kleinere Wohnmobile oder Vans gibt es einen optionalen Weg, der hinter der Kapelle zum Monument Menelaion führt, es ist holprig und eng, aber für unseren VW T6 4x4 war es überschaubar. Oben am Denkmal finden Sie direkt neben der Ruine einen ebenen Platz, der Platz für 10 Wohnmobile mit Kiefern / Schatten bietet. Es gibt einen fantastischen Blick auf die Stadt und das Tal von Sparta. Kein Wasser, kein Service.

There are thiefs watching you and steal from your car!! Arrived in the afternoon and the next morning I went to the little church in sight. Obviously somebody was waiting and stole my laptop, tablet, ... while I was in the church for a few minutes...
Sehr schöner Platz mit schöner Aussicht. Auf der einen Seite hört man die Straße von unten, auf der anderen Seite ist es ruhig. Wir waren allein, es waren nur morgens zwei Personen in der Nähe. Internetempfang sehr gut (Cosmote). Auch ohne Allrad machbar.
Toller Platz mit perfekter Aussicht auf Sparta. Einige enge Kurven, guter, fester Untergrund.
The place is very nice, view is amazing. As mentioned before, take the shorter route from the north, not the southern one as instructed by Google Maps. I did it with Sprinter 3 m high, 6 m long but you can't avoid some scratches. The ground at the top is covered with broken glass from at least three different cars. so be careful, this place is popular not only among tourists.
Amazing views on snowy mountains. Unfortunately the top is only reachable by small vans. Left my truck at the parking of the chapel to walk to the top. When I came back 15min later my window was broken and my bag stolen. Don’t leave your vehicle unattended at the parking, it seemed a planned burglary!
Sehr schöner Spot mit toller Aussicht und Möglichkeit zum Spazieren. Wir sind von Norden her gekommen, zwei Haarnadelkurven ging knapp noch mit unserem 6m Ducato.
schiterende plaats om te staan, prachtig uitzicht over de stad Sparta. Wij hebben de noordelijke route genomen. Hier en daar wat smal door olijfbomen (enkel krasjes) en een paar pittige klimmetjes maar goed te doen.
Toller Platz, traumhafte Aussicht! Sehr empfehlenswert. Wir standen alleine, ein paar Menschen kamen vorbei und grüßten nett. Wir sind den nördlichen Weg gefahren mit unserem VW Bus ohne 4x4.
Hele mooie plek! Wel veel wind, voor ons met de daktent was dit dus helaas geen optie.
very nice spot, but be careful with where Google maps sends you. I got sent along a path from the south, which while doable with my 6m long and 2.8m high van, did mean I had to scratch some trees. North path is way easier. nice view over Sparta and the monument is pretty interesting to visit. unlike many hill spots you can hide from the wind when it picks up, allowing for a quiet night.
