We actually stayed here for 2 nights as it was great shelter from a storm with the side wall and trees. Beautiful views and great walks all around. There are toilets in the Roundhouse Cafe 2 miles from this spot, and they also do a great breakfast roll for a great price!

Great place to stop over. Very quiet and peaceful with great views. Please note !! loch doon can no longer be accessed via carrick forest drive road. We went many miles down this single track road before coming across the blockade and needing to go back. Do not make our mistake !! you must access loch doon from the north on the road that passes loch doon campsite as it is the only open route.

Very nice and quite place with a lake view. Some shelter from wind. Good internet on 3.

would of been a nice place if it hadn't of been for all the toilet waste behaviour like this will ruin it for everyone as we loose more and more sites

Great sheltered spot relatively flat but quite muddy in spring, with loch views. Shame that people use behind the spot as a toilet and leave waste and toilet paper on the path :( Please take all rubbish with you

Great wee spot and a lovely view, as with a lot in the Dumfries area there is toilet paper and firepit spots around but it's a great wee road, lots of walks around too. Lucky enough to have a fantastic thunderstorm overnight.

Great spot, perfect for roof tents as the quarry wall and trees provide wind cover from 3 sides. (will fit a camp van). Quiet road and a great view of the loch. Fire pits present but wouldn't recommend as signs warn of high risk of wild fire. Ideal stop over on our trip north. The sun even came for our morning bree to warm us through after a damp night.
