Beautiful views of the lake, mountain walks just behind the carpark. Would not recommend vans or low cars to access due to extremely steep climb on a single track lane to access and then a rough offroad carpark. Overnighting not allowed

Sind spät abends angekommen und haben ohne Probleme auf dem großen Parkplatz übernachtet. Es waren noch einige andere Camper und auch Leute mit Zelten da. Landschaftlich schön und ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen. Einziges Manko: das leichte Gefälle, das sich über den gesamten Parkplatz zieht.

Amazing views and base for walking. As others have said the road is very steep and the entrance to the main carpark is very rough, a normal clearance van can handle it fine though.

Managed to drive a long wheelbase sprinter up here in the dark. Lovely views from the top, lots of space for vans though a gentle slope across the whole car park. It did start to fill up with cars and people off for a hike the next morning also.

Excellent spot and views with loads of spaces. I managed to get my L4H3 Relay/Ducato/Boxer motorhome up in the rain at dusk, so it’s possible. The single track lane is, however, extremely steep - if you meet someone on the uphill, getting started again will be difficult - be prepared to reverse to the bottom if needs be (the hill is straight at least). A few bends and bushes higher up caused no major issue. Carpark currently has a rough entrance, but never bottomed out.

Endroit magnifique avec vue sur lac et sur les montagnes. Facilement du mauvais temps. Accessibilité par pente à 30% et spot à plat en haut d'un chemin en terre. Nous sommes en Fiat Ducato L2H2 et c'est passé (il ne pleuvait pas). Départ pour randonnée "The Old Man". Pas de services. Nous étions 3 camping-car à dormir.

Superbe spot. Nous avons passés une nuit avec de la pluie et un vent terrible. Difficile de profiter de la vue et des randonnées. Des moutons comme voisins. Pour petits véhicules.

Very steep road up and awful road surface. We stayed here on a wet and very windy night and couldn’t see any of the views.

Very interesting drive up but amazing views and location once parked and perfect for the old man of Coniston walk!
