another dead park up, the golden goose well and truly strangled It's Cornwall County Council's stated aim to roll out restrictions across the entire county to completely end free camping for vehicles. This is obviously going to make life very difficult for the hundred of local people, including key workers, who live full time in vans and rely on park ups like this one.

  • 1/5

Also seen new signs no campers overnight, very sad, used to be a lovely stop.

  • 1/5

Penalty notice from council now up no motor homes or camper between 23:00 and 08:00

  • 4/5

great place to stay, flat, some cars coming and going until 11pm, then quiet until morning,

  • 3/5

  • 5/5

Great freebie spot 2mins from beach! Stayed overnight and then moved the campers down to the beach at 8am to get a spot! One of the best Cornwall beaches!

  • 1/5

Motorhome was keyed! called the police. told nothing could be done as we were illegally camping and insurance would not pay to fix! not worth the hassle

  • 5/5

Awesome spot next to sand dunes. Can get busy during Summer so best to arrive before 6pm

  • 5/5

Great little stop over even in a motorhome. Best to try and get their early. Fills up fast!! Vans kept turning up till 1:30am (I’m a light sleeper. Son and worse half slept straight through). Everyone was pleasant and friendly. Beautiful walks to the beach via costal path (sand dunes or road) Sandy beaches and beautiful scenery.

  • 5/5

Great spot! Was a busy scene of vans so spots might be tight. Right down the road from gwithian car park and public toilets. Surrounding dunes are great for a cook out, beach is great for a low tide stroll. No stress here, bonus free oat milk from kind woman.

A nice place to stay, loads of place to park.. a bit busy in a morning of dog walkers. woke me up at 7:30..

  • 1/5

I stayed here after reading all the good reviews, but had my van keyed & someone banging on the side during the night!! I spoke to a local dog walker the next morning and they said it happened to someone else the week before. Terrifying night, I hope people read this!!

Had 2 lovely nights here. Really peaceful at night, no road noise, lots of dog walkers already mentioned but this stops after dark. If you arrive and there is no space, wait around for a few mins as cars leave all the time. Plenty of other campers to chat to if you want to. Good mobile signal. I also booked one night at nearby Gwithian farm to dump and refill tanks and have a shower. Great value at £14 and a lovely site too. Deffo on my fav list.

Awesome little park up, great views over St Ives Bay. Can get busy with other vans, 17 here last night.

  • 5/5

Great little spot, lots of other campers and motorhomes of all shapes and sizes here. Done a couple of hassle free nights. Lots of dog walkers coming and going using the dunes.

  • 5/5

Beautiful little spot, right by the dunes and perfect walking distance to the beach. Really enjoyed the stay overnight. A bit nosier in the morning with cars for dog walk we’re pulling in. Beautiful sunset spot.

Staying here now, 6th October 2020. We are one of 4 vans. A very peaceful place after 7PM and the dog walkers have left.

  • 5/5

Stayed here August 2020, lovely little car park by the side of the road. Few other campers when we got there and a couple joined after us. Few cars coming early morning for walking but no problems. Bins in car park.

  • 5/5

Great spot, easy walk to the beach. I set up my cooking and everything :).

  • 4/5

Small parking area fitted around 8 vans in last night, peaceful night for me, busy place lots of walkers etc you can walk over the dunes for some amazing views or down to the beach which goes on for miles get there early for parking and later you can move about if need to

  • 4/5

Really noisy with the surfers in the early morning and very busy until late night with everyone going to the beach. also dog walkers and everyone else in between. still, amazing beach. car park is small and was always full but I was luckely able to get a space for the night.

  • 4/5

Could get quite busy, lots of people driving past. We managed to get a space and there's plenty of room for vans, may be a bit small for larger motorhomes. Fine to stay overnight and no signs saying no BBQs etc just be sensible.

  • 4/5

Great location. Arrived midweek 8pm and lucky to get parked the car park was full within the hour. Quiet night surf spot

  • 5/5

Popular with dog walkers, had to wait around 10 mins to get a space but were in xlwb, but once in had a great night with other van owners, and quite nights sleep

  • 5/5

Stayed here for 2 nights in a LWB van and had no issues. We had no trouble getting a space when we arrived in the evening and it was nice to stay there overnight with a few other vans. Quiet, close to the beach and free!

  • 5/5

Amazing. Narrow approach and the car park itself its quite small but we managed in a 7.5M 6 berth moho. Does get very busy through the day with dog walkers and beach goers, but arrived around 6pm with plenty of space. Perfect surroundings and be sure to head down to 'The jam pot' cafe in the morning.

  • 4/5

Good stay, no facilities, but we weren't bothered, but yes lots of dog walkers in the morning, plus would recommend the Rock Pool pub/restaurant for drinks and use of the toilet.

  • 5/5

Near ocean, amazing views. We spent here one night, was very nice

  • 5/5

Awesome stop and FREE!! Short walk to the beach and 20m to the dunes for walkers, there is a shack down on the beach which serves food until 3pm but is a little pricey, cappuccino £3. Take provisions and enjoy this magical spot. Turn up early or late as the parks fill with beach goers through the day

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

Arrived to this spot late at night and only one other camper on the car park, very nice spot with great views, no facilities nearby, fairly quiet even though quite close to the road leading to Gwithian beach main car park, however expect quite a few dog walkers to use car park first thing in the morning.

  • 5/5

Nice stop, close to the beach. Beautiful view of St Ives. The stopover is popular, but fairly large. There were six motor homes when we stayed. There is a large car park further down the road with a cafe and sea views which is free to park in the winter, but no overnight parking.

  • 5/5

Beautiful little spot, very peaceful and quiet at night and just a stones throw from the beach!

  • 4/5

Awesome place to stay spent 2 nights here quiet nights walk to toilets is a trek nevertheless a nice walk through the dunes safe and friendly.

  • 5/5

We arrived at 4 and it was still very full so we tried to get to the beach parking but almost got stuck on the way because it gets very narrow and is frequented a lot, so I wouldn’t recommend that. Once we got back a spot was empty and we spent a quiet nigt and had a barbecue next to our camper on a little spot in the grass while watching the sun go down!

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot with lots of little walks around

  • 4/5

Bel endroit.

  • 5/5

Great spot, it gets pretty busy but there are lots of little car parks. Beautiful walks and coast!

  • 5/5

Quiet little spot, no facilities, lovely view.

  • 4/5

Excellent.
