Beautiful place inside the the area of ‘the old Gelati Restauranr’ directly by the river, quietly and safe. With bar and restaurant, toilet and shower. Good for swimming and fishing in river. Place for many campers. Very clean and cosy. Nice owner called Mamuka.

Aunque fuera de temporada, el hombre muy amable nos abrió y pasamos dos noches. Muy tranquilos. No tiene para vaciar grises, electricidad se paga aparte. Agua incluida en el precio. 30 laris 24 horas y 5 la electricidad

Mamuka is a really nice guy! Opened for us yesterday off season, just call the number on the gate and he will meet you. Speaks some German and English. Offered his homemade wine and we had a good chat. Good experience!

Notte molto piacevole e tranquilla nel giardino di Mamuka, dietro il suo vecchio ristorante e in affaccio sul fiume in cui si può fare il bagno. Attualmente il ristorante non è attivo, il proprietario è molto affabile e disponibile e ci ha offerto vino georgiano e chacha. Ci sono bagno e doccia. Per la macchina con tenda sul tetto e docce abbiamo speso 25 lari

Хорошее место. Останавливались с караваном для посещения Кутаиси и пещеры Прометея. Чтобы попасть на территорию, стучите или звоните на телефон Мамуке (висит на входе). Радушный хозяин, делает вино. Есть не глубокая река с рыбой, можно купаться, как местные. Чистый душ, но смущает поддон в виде восточного туалета, нужно туда положить деревянную решетку!

Very kind host as described in the comments. However, you have to pay extra for every low-pressure shower (5 Lari), the campground is okey but not very cozy & toilets and shower are medium clean. It is a good place to stay for one night, when you don’t mind the restaurant music until midnight.

Die Preise variieren vom Besitzer zwischen 20Lari bis 40 Lari. Zuerst hat er uns reingelockt mit 30 Lari mit Strom und Dusche. Als wir am Strom waren und duschen gehen wollten, sagte er plötzlich wir müssen 5Lari für Strom und 5 pro Dusche bezahlen. Daher lieber vorher genau klären wie hoch der Preis ist. Die Umgebung nicht schön gepflegt, Dusche kaum Druck auf der Leitung. Für 1 Nacht war ok

Hallo Anelie, du Recht, die Musik vom Restaurant ist recht laut, aber sie endet um 0 Uhr oder kurz danach. Die Klo-Dusche ist landestypisch und sauber, wenn jeder Benutzer auch ein wenig darauf achtet. Durch die 2 Überschwemmungen vom Fluss sind andere Arbeiten leider etwas liegengeblieben. Und bei Regen steigt der Fluss an und wird braun. Schade, dass es Dir in Old Gelati nicht gefallen hat.

Netter Besitzer, Waschmaschine usw. helfen leider nicht, wenn das Restaurant gegenüber Randale bis in die Puppen macht (weit nach 0 Uhr). Wer Ruhe sucht, ist hier falsch (Laute Straße, Tankstelle: Kärcher läuft bis 3 Uhr). Merkwürdige (ekelige) Klo-Dusche Kombination mit sehr wenig Wasserdruck. Wirkt alles sehr ungepflegt. Fluss: braun, vermüllt. Kann den Platz jetzt nicht so empfehlen.

Die herzliche Aufnahme durch den Besitzer Mamuka und seine Freunde Andrea und Olaf wiegen die etwas laute Musik aus dem benachbarten Restaurant bei weitem auf. Außerdem endet sie regelmäßig vor 24 Uhr. Wir waren 3 Tage da zum relaxen, Wäsche waschen, baden im Fluss und ratschen mit anderen Overländern.

Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Eigentümer. Sie sprechen deutsch (kommen aus Deutschland) und helfen wo sie können. Hatten leider ein paar Tage bevor wir kamen nach einem Unwetter alles zu tun um ihren Platz, der völlig überschwemmt war, wieder sauber zu bekommen. Wir waren mit 4 WoMos da und haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt.

Initially we stayed 3 nights to relax and do motorhome maintenance. However we stayed longer due to fantastic hospitality by Mamuka & a beautiful German couple Andreas and Olaf. Due to freak flooding we assisted in the clean up operation. Our time together forged a very special friendship that will never be forgotten. We have been shown kindness, love and great hospitality.

Der Platz wurde durch den Fluss überschwemmt, daher naß und schlammig. Aufräumarbeiten in Gang. Haben 20 Lari plus 5 Lari je Dusche und Waschmaschine gezahlt. Musik hat uns nicht gestört.

Mamuka (owner) and the location are nice, the place is a bit aged at first glance. It still serves its purpose for a stay to clean/wash. Washing machine, space to hang clothes, etc. What made us stay only 2 nights was the extremely loud music from the restaurant on the other side of the river, both days from 8pm - midnight. And some nearby loud techno from 2-4am.

Great camping by the river. Water, electric and washing machine available. Mamuka is friendly and helpful. A little noise from nearby restaurants and road, but low level. Great spot to explore Kutaisi and around.

Das ist ein sehr schöner Platz direkt an einer wenig befahrenen Straße. Dieser Platz ist auch für wirklich große Wohnmobils zugänglich auch wenn das Tor etwas klein scheint. Nachts ist es sehr ruhig man hört nur das rauschen vom Fluss. Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und ein guter Gastgeber. Waschmaschine vorhanden und genutzt. 5 Lari pro Wäsche. Restaurants nahe am Platz. Tankstelle auf der anderen Straßenseite. Uns hat es hier sehr gefallen. Ein ganzes Wochenende hier entspannt verbracht.

Mamuta is a very nice person, friendly and full of hospitality. The camping itself looks nice but a bit rocked down but it is good located next to the river. It looks a bit abandoned when you arrive. But it’s not closed! Call the number saying on the door! Price was 30 Lari for van with two people, 5 Lari for warm showers and 5 Lari for a laundry.

Sehr freundlicher Empfang und es wirkt, als würden wir Mamuta schon lange kennen, er übersetzt gleich selbst mit dem Handy und freut sich, dass wir paar Worte russisch sprechen...alles unkompliziert und angenehm. Wir nutzen den Ort gleich paar Tage als Ausgangspunkt für verschiedene Unternehmungen. Super!

Amazing place with super friendly owner. We arrived very late but he was there to open the gate and welcome us, clean hot showers and very nice surroundings. We were also advised to visit some amazing places nearby- strongly recommend to stay here to experience true Georgian hospitality, inexpensive and quite close to Kutaisi.

Mamuka has a wonderfully relaxed set up, quiet and peaceful ... his place is a hostel (but due to covid there is no tourism) he opened his gates and made us welcome... every ask was answered with a yes ... he is not always on-site so what’s app before you arrive to make sure he is there to open the gate - we are going back as we were treated like family :)

Wir haben die Telefonnummer angerufen. Mamuka hat uns geöffnet. Man kann sich gut über den HandyÜbersetzer unterhalten. Er ist sehr gastfreundlich. Obwohl es schon 21Uhr war ist er für uns noch zum Supermarkt gefahren. Anschließend haben wir zusammen gekocht. Dann haben wir Karaoke gespielt und getanzt. Schäferhündin Alisa ist sehr brav. Am nächsten Tag gab es sogar noch ungefragt Frühstück.

There seems to be a misunderstanding. As one customers comment says we do not work anymore but we do. it seems that the customer could not see our number on the door. The number is on the hostel door.

It seems the camping site does not exist anymore - gate closed, chain blocking the entrance of the hostel, nobody here except for a large shepherd‘s dog. EDIT Oct. 2021: it seems we misinterpreted something - so I am very sorry! Obviously we missed a very nice stay!!! See next comments! However, maybe the information should have been more visible, and clearer to understand.

Eigentlich ein schöner Ort, allerdings auch ein wenig traurig. Aus dem ehemaligen Restaurant versucht der Besitzer nun ein Hostel zu machen, was nicht so recht funktionieren mag. Gegenüber auf der anderen Seite des Flusses hat ein neues Restaurant aufgemacht, in dem jeden Abend grössere Feiern stattfinden, so der Eigentümer des Stellplatzes. Unsre Nacht war gestört von lauter Musik vom gegenüber liegenden Restaurant.

Das Old Gelati Restaurant ist für normale Besucher nicht mehr geöffnet. Aber der Gastgeber Manouka und seine Familie lässt Gäste gerne in seinem Hof übernachten. Mittlerweile kommen wg der guten Bewertungen ca alle 2-3 Wochen Gäste. Deswegen sind sie aber nicht weniger herzlich. Wir haben auf Anfrage ein tolles sehr großzügiges Abendessen bekommen(57Gel p 2Pers). Übernachten 20 Gel, Waschen 5Gel

Very nice place by the river. A bit close to the road and a bridge but the location makes up for it. Perfect for a swim, there's also a swing to jump in the river. Mamouk took photos for us while we jumped in, very nice guy.

We were here off-season, so the showers did not work yet. The place is nice and clean, Mamuka is really cool and friendly, we had a good night.
